Kofi Kingston is the new WWE Champion

Kofi Kingston defeated Daniel Bryan in an epic match to become the new WWE Champion at WrestleMania 35 on Sunday night at Metlife Stadium.

Kingston is the first-ever African American WWE Champion

Kingston has now made history becoming WWE Champion at WrestleMania.

Ron Simmons was the first ever WCW African American World Champion. Booker T also won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship during his time in WCW.

The Rock, who is half Samoan (his mother being Samoan) and his father Rocky Johnson being born in Canada and residing in the United States. Mark Henry was World Heavyweight champion.

Bryan connects with his jumping knee. Kofi kicks out! Bryan can’t believe it. Bryan with some stomps and then gets the LeBell Lock applied again. The crowd is firing up in Metlife. Kofi counters out, but Bryan has the left arm of Kofi. Kofi is dropping bombs. Kofi is now stomping away on Bryan and is fired up. Trouble in Paradise. Kofi gets the pinfall!
