AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT Ratings: Dynamite defeats NXT in head-to-head airings

NXT and AEW Ratings

AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT ratings for October 2, 2019 are now in.

AEW Dynamite, which had its first episode on TNT last night, drew an average of 1.409 million viewers on Wednesday night.

This week’s episode of NXT, the third episode since debuting on the USA Network and the first to go head-to-head against AEW Dynamite, drew an average of 891 thousand viewers on Wednesday night according to a report by Showbuzzdaily.com.

This is down from last week’s debut show that averaged 1.006 million viewers. NXT came in at No. 10 for the night on cable in the 18-49 demographics, down from No. 8 where they placed last week.

It should be noted that this is the first night of the much talked about “Wednesday Night War” in which AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT would go head-to-head. Earlier today, WWE issued a statement congratulating AEW on a successful premiere and reminded the company that it is a marathon, not a one-night sprint.
