Introduction:

Greetings students! Welcome once again to “Predictions from the Faculty”. The only PPV where the professors of professional wrestling sit down and spend a few minutes filling out their predicted winners for the dozens of pay-per-views which occur in either the WWE or TNA.

This weekend, we will present out picks for WWE’s Over the Limit. Currently, unless there are any changes we have eight contests. There are five matches for a WWE Championship, while three are non-title. So many of them are going over the limit to make themselves better superstars. Titles are at stake, hair is at stake, pride is at stake, even grudge contests should be impressive. There are going to be many questions answered Sunday Night. Some might ask the following:

Will Cena say “I Quit”?

Will Orton make Edge fall due to the RKO?

Will CM Punk be bald…or will Rey have no choice but to pledge “Straight Edge”?

Is Big Show just too much for the brash, World Champion from Smackdown?

Are the Hart Dynasty for real?

Will Drew McIntyre silence many critics and put on a good performance against a strongly-pushed Kofi Kingston?

Will Ted Jr. get help from “Virgil”?

And will the Divas get a match that lasts three minutes?

All will be answered and maybe more. So, who will go Over the Limit and become victorious in their matchups? Or who will Crash (get it “crash” is the song title for this PPV’s theme). Though the Faculty cannot guarantee perfection, we will do our best to provide you with our insights and honest predictions.

So, before I present the picks from the Faculty here are the current Standings as of TNA’s Sacrifice:

1) Josh Boutwell (Viva La Raza and TNA Recapper)……………….35-18 (7-2)
2) David Stephens (That’s a Wrap and RAW Recapper)………….33-20 (6-3)
3) Matt O’Brien (Notes From The Nosebleeds)…………………………33-20 (6-3)
4) Jose Marrero (Wrestling Rumblings)……………………………………33-20 (7-2)
5) Daniel Browne (For Queen and Country)……………………………..32-21 (6-3)
6) Students of the Week (The Best from Prev. PPV)………………32-21 (6-3)**
7) WrestleView Students (The Loyal Readers)………………………..30-23 (5-4)
8) Anthony Valvo (From the Desk of Mr. V/ROH Recaps)……….27-26 (5-4)
9) Sean Hurley (The Sharpshooter)………………………………………..27-26 (6-3)
10) Mike Tedesco (Smackdown and NXT Recapper)…………………26-20 (6-3)
11) Doug Lackey (Reality From Ringside)………………………………….26-27 (6-3)
12) Jeff Springer (WWE Superstars Recapper)……………………………25-16 (7-2)
13) Joe Baiamonte (Baiamonte’s Casa/2009 WV Champ)………24-20 (0-0)

**Though seven people had shared the best record for last week’s PPV, Michael Phillips posted a share while he was The Student of the Week. Due to the tiebreaking system, Michael Phillips will be the ONLY Student of the Week this week.

Absent as of Press Time are: Jeff Springer and Joe Baiamonte.

Well, without any more interruption here are The Faculty’s predictions for WWE’s Over the Limit.

Also, I will just add up the consensus. I am pretty tired (been up for 22 straight hours). Here they are!

NON-TITLE MATCHES

Ted DiBiase Jr. vs. R-Truth

Josh B. – DIBIASE, JR.

David S. – TED DIBIASE, JR.

Matt O. – The Fortunate Son (TED DIBIASE, JR.)

Jose M. – I don’t think the intention is to keep Virgil around so I’m going to say R-TRUTH wins and DiBiase fires Virgil and maybe even gets beat up by him when the match is over.

Daniel B. – TED DIBIASE.

Michael P. – TED DIBIASE.

Anthony V. – R-TRUTH. I was moving back and forth with this one, but I think Virgil will cost Ted this match.

Sean H. – DIBIASE.

Mike T. – R-TRUTH after some botched Virgil interference!

Doug L. – TED JR. via the put-over powers of R-Truth as mediocre as they may be. It is called ‘The Killings Curse’… ask Drew McIntyre how effective R-Truth was in his first solo program in helping him get over…

Jeff S. –

Joe B. –

Consensus: TED DIBIASE 7-3.

Randy Orton vs. Edge

Josh B. – ORTON.

David S. – EDGE.

Matt O. – I want Orton to get the win…but I think Edge needs it more. I’ll go with EDGE.

Jose M. – EDGE wins because it will help ignite his run on his latest heel turn.

Daniel B. – EDGE.

Michael P. – ORTON.

Anthony V. – I am going with EDGE. It seemed like Orton has been too dominant and I predict that Edge will sneak out a quick roll up or some cheating tactic to win this contest.

Sean H. – ORTON.

Mike T. – EDGE.

Doug L. – EDGE via Randy Orton cracking his neck during his pre-motion for RKO. I’m envisioning long drawn-out program here, possible culminating at Summerslam in a rubber match with stipulations and something worthwhile involved, like a title shot.

Jeff S. –

Joe B. –

Consensus: EDGE 7-3.

**SES Pledge vs. Hair Match**
Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk

Josh B. – PUNKER.

David S. – REY REY.

Matt O. – CM PUNK.

Jose M. – I don’t see CM Punk getting his head shaved at all and the rumor has been they want Punk vs. Rey to run till Summerslam so I am going with PUNK.

Daniel B. – REY MYSTERIO.

Michael P. – REY MYSTERIO but Punk head doesn’t get shaved because the Masked Man saves Punk

Anthony V. – If they want this feud to continue along in the summer, it is best if CM PUNK wins this match and makes Rey pledge to join the SES. I think Rey will cause an inner-circle war that will have a huge payoff. I would not be surprised if Punk loses his hair though.

Sean H. – I think Rey but I hope Punk. I’m picking PUNK.

Mike T. – REY MYSTERIO – I’d still love to see this feud go longer.

Doug L. – REY via the thoughts of pudgy masked children with tears in their eyes. Can you imagine the insanity and the hours of therapy that will be needed for the youth of America when Rey joins SES?

Jeff S. –

Joe B. –

Consensus: PUSH 5-5.

CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES

**FOR THE WWE DIVAS TITLE**
Eve Torres (c) vs. Maryse

Josh B. – EVE.

David S. – EVE TORRES.

Matt O. – MARYSE.

Jose M. – MARYSE because I like her.

Daniel B. – MARYSE.

Michael P. – EVE TORRES, god don’t be like TNA and whore your championships.

Anthony V. – I am tired of seeing Maryse winning the belt. Let her chase for a little bit. I am going to predict EVE TORRES to retain the Divas Title because I think she can do more with it.

Sean H. – MARYSE.

Mike T. – EVE TORRES.

Doug L. – EVE via notions of Melina returning. I imagine an incredibly horrible “honor” angle in the works with those two in the near future… something I don’t condone at all.

Jeff S. –

Joe B. –

Consensus: EVE TORRES 6-4.

**FOR THE WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP**
Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Kofi Kingston

Josh B. – MCINTYRE.

David S. – DREW MCINTYRE.

Matt O. – MCINTYRE.

Jose M. – DREW because there is just so much more they could do in terms of building who is going to beat him.

Daniel B. – DREW MCINTYRE.

Michael P. – DREW MCINTYRE.

Anthony V. – As I said on The Teacher’s Lounge I think Kofi is good, but way too one-dimensional. Kofi won’t win the title here. DREW MCINTYRE will counter a top rope attack and hit his Future Shock on Kingston to retain.

Sean H. – DREW.

Mike T. – KOFI KINGSTON PLEASE GOD!!!

Doug L. – McINTYRE via ME! ‘Nuff said! Like hell you think I’m going to give you a reason! *slowly walks out of room half-smirking*

Jeff S. –

Joe B. –

Consensus: DREW MCINTYRE 9-1

**FOR THE WWE UNIFIED TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP**
The Hart Dynasty (DH Smith and Tyson Kidd) vs. Chris Jericho and The Miz

Josh B. – HART DYNASTY.

David S. – HART DYNASTY.

Matt O. – MIZICHO. (JERICHO/MIZ).

Jose M. – This could go either way but I am going to say MIZ and JERICHO because there are no heel tag teams on either brand and it is easier to put together a babyface tag team than a heel one.

Daniel B. – MIZ/JERICHO.

Michael P. – HART DYNASTY.

Anthony V. – The fan in me wants to see the HART DYNASTY win this one. Also, as long as Bret is holding onto the United States Title the Harts title reign is safe.

Sean H. – JIZ (JERICHO/MIZ).

Mike T. – THE HART DYNASTY.

Doug L. – HART DYNASTY via WWE team-building excursion. Whoever wins this match, list the tag teams that would next be in line for a title shot? ………….That’s what I thought.

Jeff S. –

Joe B. –

Consensus: THE HART DYNASTY 6-4.

**FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP**
Jack Swagger (c) vs. The Big Show

Josh B. – SWAGGER.

David S. – SWAGGER.

Matt O. – SWAGGER.

Jose M. – SWAGGER because the “Swaggie” is delicious.

Daniel B. – JACK SWAGGER.

Michael P. – SWAGGER.

Anthony V. – I am going with SWAGGER in this contest to retain. Big Show has dominated the feud to a point where Swagger will get a cheap victory and finally get that big win.

Sean H. – SWAGGER.

Mike T. – JACK SWAGGER.

Doug L. – SWAGGER via not yet… hold your horses. Of all the people to take the title from Swags, wouldn’t Rey or ‘Taker sound a little more viable? Imagine Rey takes title and then an EPIC match b/t Rey and CM.

Jeff S. –

Joe B. –

Consensus: JACK SWAGGER 10-0.

**FOR THE WWE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP**
I Quit Match
John Cena (c) vs. Batista

Josh B. – CENA.

David S. – CENA.

Matt O. – CENA.

Jose M. – CENA because well he is Cena and has never lost an “I Quit” match.

Daniel B. – JOHN CENA.

Michael P. – CENA.

Anthony V. – The easiest pick. CENA will win this match. I would bet my entire collection of coffee mugs on it.

Sean H. – CENA.

Mike T. – JOHN CENA – snore.

Doug L. – CENA via not yet… hold your horses Interwebz. Enter the next night’s Raw… Batista whining and complaining… Sheamus or Mark Henry coming out and ending Batista’s career. Like? Me do too.

Jeff S. –

Joe B. –

Consensus: JOHN CENA 10-0.
