WWE UK star Piper Niven reveals she suffered from Bell’s Palsy

WWE NXT UK star Piper Niven recently revealed on Twitter (view below) that she has suffered a bout of Bell’s Palsy.

Bell’s Palsy, also known as facial palsy, can happen at any age. The exact cause is uknown. 

Some medical experts believe Bells Palsy is the result of swelling and inflammation of the nerve that controls the muscles on one side of your face.  It is also said that Bells Palsy can occur from a reaction after a viral infection.

Bell’s palsy is temporary for most people that suffer from it.  However, symptoms usually start to improve within a few weeks, with complete recovery in about six months. 

A small number of people who suffer from Bell’s Palsy will have some symptoms for life. It rarely reoccures in people.

Niven made her debut in 2009 at the age of 18 with the Scottish Wrestling Alliance under the in-ring name of Viper.  

Niven then moved to Japan to wrestle for World Wonder Ring Stardom. In 2015 she became the first Women’s Insane Championship Wrestling Champion.

She competed in the WWE May Young Classic in 2017 and debuted on March 29, 2019 episode of WWE NXT UK confronting Rhea Ripley.
