Details on WWE NXT Superstar reportedly moving over to Friday Night SmackDown

Matt Riddle moving to SmackDown

According to multiple sources, WWE NXT Superstar Matt Riddle will be switching brands to Friday Night SmackDown in the near future.

While no official debut date is known, Riddle was seen performing at the Performance Center on Monday for SmackDown. It is expected he will be in a feud with King Corbin, who eliminated him from the Royal Rumble in January.

It was initially reported in April that WWE would be taping two episodes of Raw on May 25 and two episodes of SmackDown on May 26, but it appears that was switched to a Raw and SmackDown taping on May 25 and a Raw and SmackDown taping on May 26. Recently re-signed Drew Gulak was also seen performing in a Battle Royal taped for SmackDown yesterday at the Performance Center.

Riddle will face former tag team partner Timothy Thatcher this Wednesday on NXT in a Cage Fight refereed by Kurt Angle. It is not known if this will be Riddle’s final appearance on NXT.

We will continue to follow this story as more becomes available.
