According to a new report by Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline, Elias has been sidelined with a torn pectoral muscle.
The storyline that took place on the May 29 edition of SmackDown where Elias was allegedly hit by a car was partly done to write Elias out of storylines. The injury is expected to keep him out of action for months, though the exact length is unknown at this time.
Elias was originally supposed to face AJ Styles in the Semifinals of the WWE Intercontinental Championship Tournament that night before the injury interfered with those plans. Styles took a bye to the finals.
