Great American Bash coming to next week's episode of NXT

During Wednesday night’s episode of WWE NXT on the USA Network, the Great American Bash will be brought to next week’s episode of NXT, which will go head-to-head with Night One of AEW’s Fyter Fest on TNT.

WWE also announced that the Great American Bash theme will also take place on the July 8 episode, which will see NXT Champion Adam Cole take on North American Champion Keith Lee in a Winner Take All Match.

Below is the current lineup for next week’s show:

– First-Ever NXT Strap Match: Roderick Strong vs. Dexter Lumis.

– 2-on-1 Handicap Match: Rhea Ripley vs. Robert Stone and Aliyah in a Handicap Match. Ripley will join The Robert Stone Brand if she loses.

– Fatal 4-Way to determine the new number 1 contender for the NXT Women’s Championship with Tegan Nox vs. Candice LeRae vs. Mia Yim vs. Dakota Kai.

The Great American Bash was a pay-per-view first used back in 1985 by the National Wrestling Alliance under Jim Crockett Promotions, and then continued under WCW.

After WWE purchased WCW in March 2001, they used the Great American Bash name for live specials with Raw, SmackDown, ECW. The last Great American Bash event under the WWE was a special edition of Super SmackDown Live which took place on July 2, 2012.

WWE also held a PPV simply called Bash which took place at then the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California on June 28, 2009.
