Charlotte Flair discloses the real reason she has been absent from WWE

Charlotte Flair details surgery

This past June, it was revealed that Charlotte Flair was legitimately undergoing surgery after being written out of storylines due to an attack by Nia Jax causing a broken collarbone.

Flair took to social media to explain fully why she is absent from performing. Taking to Twitter while having her air conditioning repaired, Flair went through her surgery and how she hopes telling her story will stop the body shaming she and others have experienced.

Following WrestleMania 34 in 2018, Flair was at her brother’s house and became very ill. The doctor said that one of her implants was leaking and had given her some of the worst silicone poisoning he had ever observed. She was given a few choices for surgery and picked the option that would allow her to return the quickest.

Several months ago, the same issue cropped up again. Flair clarified that she does not have silicone poisoning this time around, but she is “going with an option that I believe will solve the issue long [term], even though the recovery period is a little longer than I would like.” This is cosmetic surgery to fix an issue from the previous surgery.

It is unclear when she will return. Preliminary reports stated SummerSlam was a slight possibility, but farther out was more realistic. Flair said she will be back when she’s ready.
