Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson buys XFL for $15 million with RedBird Capital

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has partnered with Gerry Cardinale’s RedBird Capital and have bought the XFL for $15 million according to a report by Sportico. The league was set to be auctioned off hours before the deal went through. Per the report, Johnson’s ex-wife, Dany Garcia, who is also a business partner, will be a stakeholder.

The XFL had filed for bankruptcy back in April when the COVID-19 pandemic hit which forced sports leagues around the world to be shut down. They previously had a broadcast agreement with Fox.
