Kurt Angle celebrates seven years of sobriety

WWE Hall of Famer took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce that he is celebrating seven years of sobriety.

Angle’s seven years of sobriety dates back his hiatus from TNA Wrestling that began on August 2, 2013 after he was arrested and charged with a DWI in Texas, which was his  fourth alcohol related arrest within a six year period.

Following the DWI in Texas, Angle immediately entered rehab for drug and alcohol use.

Angle was released from WWE this past April as a part cutbacks from financial challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also revealed back in June that he turned that he  turned down an offer to return to WWE television regularly as Matt Riddle’s manager on Friday Night SmackDown.

Angle returned to the WWE on the April 3, 2017 episode Raw after an 11 year absence.

Angle is currently working on his new Physically Fit Nutrition business.
