Jody Hamilton, who was part of the legendary professional wrestling tag team “The Assassins” passed away Tuesday at the age of 82.
Hamilton’s son, Joe Hamilton Jr. (former WCW referee Nick Patrick) announced the passing of his father in a Facebook post (see below) on Tuesday.
Jody Hamilton had entered hospice on Monday.
“It is with heavy heart that I make this post. At 2:16 today my father took his last breath on this earth,” Hamilton Jr. wrote. “He passed comfortably, surrounded by the people that love him. Now our attention has to shift over to taking care of my mom. I want to thank everyone that sent out prayers and support for my family. I will put more information about pop out, but right now I’m kinda numb.”
Hamilton worked behind the scenes, and as a manager in WCW after he retired from in-ring action. He was the original founder of the WCW Power Plant. He ran Deep South Wrestling, which later became a developmental promotion for WWE from 2005 to 2007.
From the entire staff at Wrestleview, we send our thoughts, prayers and condolences to the family and friends of Jody Hamilton during this difficult and sad time.
