In regards to the announcement that WGN America has canceled WWE Superstars April 7, PWInsider.com is reporting that the main reason for the decision involved WGN paying “B or C show money for a D show delivery.” The hope internally two years ago within WGN was that by bringing in WWE programming that it would bring ratings to the national feed (which is still attempting to grow in clearance across the country) and would thus allow more cable companies to pick up the network. While WWE loaded up the show early on, it later became the destination show for mid card talent not being used on Raw and Smackdown on a frequent basis. There is already concern that WWE could be making some cuts following Wrestlemania with the show going away.
