Report: The newest inductee for the WWE Hall of Fame 2023 class is…

The Great Muta

According to ESPN, Muta will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame 2023 class, per sources. PWInsider first reported the news last weekend.

An official announcement is expected on WWE’s The Bump on Wednesday.

Even though Muta never wrestled for WWE/F, he did participate in the 1985 NJPW IWGP and WWF Champion Series. Muta ended up becoming a household name with North American pro wrestling fans after success in the NWA and WCW. Muta is best known for his feud with Sting in the NWA, with their feud for the World Television Championship.

One of Great Muta’s most memorable matches was in the electrified ThunderDome at the very first WCW Halloween Havoc PPV in 1989, where he teamed up with Terry Funk against Ric Flair and Sting.

Muta joins Rey Mysterio as part of the 2023 WWE Hall of Fame.

The 2023 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Friday, March 31, immediately following the WrestleMania 39 go-home show of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. WWE SmackDown will air live from the same venue.

The 2023 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony will air live on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network everywhere else.
