Following their WWE release in April as part of the post-WrestleMania roster cuts, the Motor City Machine Guns have teased the next chapter in their storied career.
In a video uploaded on YouTube, Alex Shelley appears to help his tag partner Chris Sabin go through the five steps of grief, alluding to the reaction to the former WWE Tag Team Champion’s release from the company.
The team, most notable for their run in TNA and the independent circuit, later open a package containing what they claim to be contract offers from several wrestling promotions, invoking the names of companies past such as FMW, CyberFight, WAR, IWA Mid-South, and more before finding one last offer at the end that gets Sabin excited.
The video closes with Shelley telling Sabin he has reached the fifth stage of grief, acceptance, never revealing the promotion that makes that final offer.
This comes after a Fightful Select report in April indicating that the pair are expected to eventually sign with AEW.
