Jerry Lawler says Rikishi was to be Royal Rumble surprise
Anthony Sulla-Heffinger of The New York Post is featuring an interview with WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler who talks about the upcoming Wrestlemania 29 week in New Jersey/New York, the recent Raw 20th Anniversary and how plans fell through to feature a former WWE star in the Royal Rumble this year. Lawler added, “I do know that they had contacted Rikishi but he had a prior commitment that he could not get out of. My son Brian told me that it was just a commitment he literally could not get out of even though he really wanted to [be in the Rumble]. There are going to be some great names who will be there though.”

Dividend.com asks if WWE stock is “down for the count”
A new article by Michael Flannelly of Dividend.com looks at WWE stock and how it has “never been a strong stock for investors” and how some analysts have a lot riding on the Royal Rumble PPV this Sunday. The article points to declining revenues, declining television ratings and even points to the possibility of Vince McMahon selling adding, “Though it seems like the WWE has some sort of line of succession coming from Vince McMahon and his family, it might not be that far fetched of an idea for the entertainment company to sell. If the company continues to face financial hardships, no solution can truly be off the table.”
