Zayn celebrates his win as we go to commercial.

THOUGHTS: Solid opening match. Hawkins is a pretty underrated worker who in my opinion, doesn’t get enough opportunities to showcase his ability. Zayn continues to put on very good matches in NXT and is by far, their most consistent performer. Good way to start the show.

Commercial

Back from commercial, ring announcer Byron Saxton introduces Aiden English. English asks for a spotlight. English says he is the only legitimate artiste to ever crossover into this industry, but instead of telling you about, I’ll do it with my voice. English sings that he is the very model of a modern major Superstar. I’ll face all my opponents, whether they’re from near and far. Oh, I know I’ll love your fancy pants and technical maneuvers and I know what just to say and sing to all the shakers and the movers. Because I am Aiden English and I am here to put the E into the WWE. English bows as the song ends and the lights come back on.

Aiden English vs. QT Marshall

Didn’t catch QT’s NXT ring name given, but English is facing current ROH performer QT Marshall in this match. English with a slap and tells QT to bring it. QT with a side headlock, but runs into a kitchen sink by English. English stomps away, followed by a big short-arm clothesline. English again stomps away, followed by a flurry of right hands. English talks trash to QT, then blows a kiss to the crowd before hitting a jumping leg drop.

English grabs QT, says “Take a Bow” and hits a Cobra Clutch Side Effect variation slam for the win.

Winner: Aiden English by pinfall (Cobra Clutch Side Effect Slam)

English asks for a mic afterwards. English wants his spotlight again, then says he has decided to give everyone an encore. English sings that he is the very model of a major Superstar. English blows another kiss as he leaves.

THOUGHTS: WOW, what a helluva debut by English. Yes I know, he was jobber #4 for the last year on this show, but who cares, the debut of this gimmick was awesome. Loved the thespian style to this singing gimmick, which BTW, English can really sing, too. Liked to see QT Marshall actually get booked as well (inside reference there).

Backstage, Bo Dallas is on the phone with someone and says to them to keep “Bo-liveing”. Renee Young walks in and asks if she can ask Bo a question. Bo says he was leaving all his “Bo-lievers” a message on his new hotline that is currently testing in “Bo-livia”. Renee asks about Sami Zayn, mentioning his win over Curt Hawkins. Bo says it was a nifty win by Zayn, but let’s be honest, when was the last time Curt Hawkins won a match? Zayn has gotta win a match again someone with credibility, not for me, for him. Like I said last week, who am I to decide who gets a title shot? But, I think I have come up with an idea that is fair for everybody to decide who gets a title shot at my title. Renee asks Bo to elaborate. Bo says he wish he could right now, but I have a prior arrangement at a ribbon cutting ceremony. Championship duties never end. But, I will make that announcement next week. Just remember, don’t stop “Bo-liveing.”

THOUGHTS: Continue to love the delusional babyface character Dallas is portraying. So much comfortable in this role compared to what he was as a white-meat babyface. Now, if he can learn to not suck in the ring, then the sky would be the limit for Dallas. Instead, we get a great character on a very bad worker. Oh well.

Victor pulls at the hair of Neville. Kruger in, works over Neville’s arm. Neville shows off his agility and takes Kruger down with an arm whip. Woods in, double sledge to Kruger’s arm. Breeze goes for a tag, but the Ascension and Kruger drop off the apron and go to the back, walking away from the match. Big left hand by Parker to Breeze. Woods in, Soul Food variation to Breeze. Graves in, front chopblock to Breeze. Neville in, heads up top.

Red Arrow to Breeze for the win.

Winners: Xavier Woods, CJ Parker and NXT Tag Team Champions Corey Graves & Adrian Neville by pinfall (The Red Arrow)

Woods, Parker, Graves and Neville celebrate their win as we go to credits.

THOUGHTS: Fun 8-man tag. Loved Breeze playing the chicken heel who would tag himself in when the babyface was down, then when the babyface would fight back, Breeze would quickly tag out. Loved the finish where the other heels walked out Breeze and he took all the babyface’s big moves. Well done story to the match and a nice way to end this NXT.
