The Los Angeles Times recently did an article covering the WWE Network launch which featured comments from WWE Chairman Vince McMahon on why the Network did not launch as a cable network. McMahon explains in the article that there were deals in place for that to happen, but he felt the deals were “too restrictive” and with those deals, WWE would have only garnered “20 cents a subscriber.”
