The New York Post has a new article up, looking at NBC Universal exclusively negotiating with WWE for their TV rights, with the window of negotiating exclusively ending on February 1, 2014. At that point, WWE can begin negotiating with other networks, but if WWE receives an offer, NBC has the right to be able to match it. The article also mentions NBC possibly looking at launching a physical WWE Hall of Fame at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida as part of their pitch to WWE to keep their programming on their networks.
WWE issued the following statement to the New York Post about these ongoing negotiations: “WWE is the hottest property on cable and a proven ratings juggernaut. However, we are in an exclusive negotiating window until the end of next week.”
