Former NBC and current ESPN personality Michelle Beadle made an appearance on “The Ross Report” podcast with Jim Ross on Wednesday and discussed more about her backstage incident with CM Punk and AJ Lee at the 2013 Tribute to the Troops event. Beadle reiterated some of her earlier statements on Twitter saying she greeted Punk, who she considered a friend, with a “hi f*ckface” and was then quickly confronted by Lee.
“Next thing I know, she is in my face yelling at me and I honestly, I swear to you I thought it was a joke. I thought I was being setup for a ‘ha ha ha’ and I looked up at him (CM Punk) and he wouldn’t look at me and he kept his back to us. She kept going and I just was blown away. So, that was kind of it and I thought alright, it’s no big deal. WWE was apologetic to me on site and I just said it’s not your problem. You know, people are who they are. That was it and when I got home I thought it had died. But when I got home that following week it had blown up on all the blogs and all the wrestling peeps had all this information. That’s when I issued a three part tweet just to say my side of the story because it was getting really old that I was ‘trying to take someone’s man’ and whatever high school crap people want to say. That’s all. And you know, Phil and I stopped being friends that day and I wish him the best of luck. That’s it. It’s a bummer because I always respected him and I thought he was one of those cool guys that didn’t fall into a certain role and did what he wanted. To watch all that happen and to have somebody tattle on me and to have their girlfriend get in my face is a little pathetic. But, it’s okay. I’ve moved on.”
