Update (11:33 p.m. ET): A live report from the taping indicated that this segment took place after dark matches and just prior to the Smackdown taping so it doesn’t appear it will end up airing on Syfy this Friday night.
It was announced at the Smackdown taping tonight in Houston by the Big Show to the live audience that Daniel Bryan will indeed require surgery on his arm. Bryan has been out of action since June hoping to avoid surgery by rehabbing his shoulder.
Bryan had been scheduled for a surgery in August, but doctors felt he should be able to rehab it without surgery. A recent report stated that strength had not been returning to Bryan’s arm and while not confirmed, the belief was that Bryan could be having to undergo Tommy Johns surgery that would keep him out for a full year.
