CM Punk on Hardy, first World Title run

The Ringside blog over on Mirror.co.uk has an interview up with WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk. Here are some of the highlights.

On his match with Jeff Hardy at Night of Champions:
“Absolutely, the match is in Philadelphia, which has always been a second home for me, I lived there and the hardcore fans in Philadelphia are always a pleasure to wrestle in front of. I think styles make fights and Jeff’s high-flying and my more ground based submission style deal makes an exciting match, but on top of that there’s also a burning personal issue between us, so it’s definitely one to look out for.”

On showing examples of his old ROH character in WWE recently:
“Well, with old is new and there’s a billion people out there who have never seen the old CM Punk so it’s exciting again. I’m the kinda guy who gets bored real easy so it’s great to do something a little different to what I’ve been doing for the last three years. I’m definitely excited. The fans are bringing that out in me. It’s not me who has changed, it’s kind of the fans this time. They’re cheering for Jeff Hardy. It’s not offensive, it’s just the way it is.”

Who he wants to work with still in WWE:
“I think the two big ones that I would love to work with are Cena and Shawn Michaels, those are the dream matches absolutely. I hope Shawn Michaels comes back soon, I don’t know when he’s coming back but it would be awesome if he came back for SummerSlam. To round it out as four, I think I’d put HHH and the Undertaker up there as well.”

If he was upset his first World Title run was cut short:
“Nah, man.. that’s just the way it is, Jericho was hot at the time and it was just smart business.”
