Alberto el Patron in ROH
Last week AAA World Champion Alberto el Patron returned to ROH with a win over ACH on 01/24 and then followed up with a win over former ROH World Champion Roderick Strong on 01/31. He will meet Jay Lethal in March at ROH’s Anniversary PPV for Lethal’s ROH TV Championship.

JoMyzteziz’s Gym Holding 2nd Anniversary Show
AAA star Myzteziz will be holding a special show to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of his gym, “Sin Cara Gym”, next Saturday. Myzteziz will be wrestling on the show but no other talent has been announced though you can guess Averno and Myzteziz’s brothers will be appearing too. Last year CMLL’s La Sombra also appeared but I don’t see that happening again.

– That is a very interesting Main Event. Everyone in the match is also a part of Lucha Underground except for Myzteziz. Fantasma wrestles as King Cuerno on Lucha Underground. That should be a pretty great match too.

Volador & Guerrero Crash at Press Conference
This week CMLL and All-Elite jointly held a press conference to promote this weekends All Elite event in Arena Mexico. Many of the stars that will be appearing on the show were there but one big star showed up late, Volador Jr. of CMLL. As he came in late Ultimo Guerrero, also of CMLL, made a couple of sarcastic remarks about Volador showing up late suggesting that true stars don’t do unprofessional things like that and CMLL should start fining or suspending those that do. Volador actually tossed a couple of verbal bombs back asking how Guerrero could be a “superstar” since he was’t in the Main Event yet Volador was. Guerrero and Volador then went back and forth for a while which including Guerrero surprisingly alluding to his backstage power in CMLL saying that he would try and make sure he DOES end up on All-Elite main events in the future. Guerrero’s frustration boiled over and he eventually got up and left the press conference, but that didn’t stop Volador from throwing more shots at him. Volador taunted Guerrero for a few seconds before finally moving on. All of this was just odd because it sounds like the two are feuding but they aren’t and there has been no sign pointing towards an Ultimo Guerrero-Volador Jr. feud unless it is just something All-Elite wants to do for their shows. It honestly just sounded like two people that don’t get along and things kind of coming to a head in a public situation.

* NOTES *
– Luciferno was Hombre sin Nombre/Hooligan in a new gimmick/mask. CMLL isn’t trying to hide that this is Hombre under a new gimmick, but for some reason they still refuse to acknowledge that he is also the former Hooligan. This is his fifth different character/mask as he started out as Super Punk before changing to Ultimo Rebelde in Promo Azteca back in the 90’s and then went on to become Hooligan for a decade in CMLL. For those unaware he and Ultimo Guerrero had a tag team in Promo Azteca known as Los Hooligans which is where the Hooligan name came from. Then oddly last year CMLL put him under a horribly boring and generic looking mask and called him Hombre sin Nombre (Man With No Name) before this most recent change to a much more interesting look similar to that of Averno’s old mask.

MISC/INDY

Laredo Kid Impresses WWE
According to WrestlingInc former AAA star Laredo Kid impressed WWE officials at his try out last month, which I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, and that he would indeed be brought back in for another tryout match in April. WWE officials supposedly would like to develop him as new masked wrestler in NXT.

New Gimmick for Kalisto?
Rumors have started to swirl this week that one half of the WWE’s NXT Tag Team Champions Lucha Dragons, Kalisto, could be heading up to the main roster soon with a new gimmick. The former Octagon Jr./Samuray del Sol could be getting repackaged in a “gay hairstylist” type of gimmick. I could go off on a long winded rant right now, but I’m just going to leave it alone and say this is WWE so enough said.
