Alex Kahrs reviews WWE Smackdown for 10/8/15

WWE Smackdown Review (Layin’ the Smarkdown)
October 18, 2015

Your Saturday Night’s Main Event edition of Layin’ The SmarkDown is here! We’re a little over a week from Hell in a Cell, and things are really picking up for the most part.

Reigns/Dallas: I’m still waiting for Bo Dallas to just one day “snap” and join the Wyatt Family, but until then we get a pretty funny promo from the “inspirational” Superstar before quickly getting beat up by WWE’s second coming of Cena. Just to clarify, I think Roman is a pretty cool guy, but I always found the bit where he was almost destined to win Royal Rumble, win the WWE title at Wrestlemania, and go from there to be a bit funny and sad at the same time. That said, I’m still looking forward to this match he and Bray have coming up at HIAC…and you can “BOlieve that.”

The Tag Match Where Stardust is Watching From The Crowd: Probably sums this up better than any review could. I like all these guys, but I’d LOVE to know what’s next for Stardust and (apparently) the Cosmic Wasteland.

Side Note: Man, they really killed the Rusev/Lana/Summer/Dolph angle off quick, didn’t they?

Ambrose Segment: Dean shines as always here. I could really go for a Payday bar now, too.

Owens/Ryder: MY BOY RYDER WAS ON TV THIS WEEK. #WWWYKI…the match was what it was, but come on. Zack Ryder was on main roster TV this week, that has been good for something, right? Right?

Paige/Natalya Segment: Weird, but considering what this set up, it’s fine. More on that in a bit.

Ziggler/Rusev: Man, they REALLY killed this angle off quick. Egads, man. Match was good, but…(shrug)

Dudley/Dean Interview: Mmm, much better. Loved the interaction between the Dudleys and Dean Ambrose. Nice bit of humor.

PTP/Wyatt Family: Surprisingly good. Strowman continues to showcase his seemingly inhuman (not Inhuman) strength.

Charlotte/Fox: Good match. More of these, please, WWE? I mean, we can handle a 30 Minute Iron Woman match every once in a while in the main roster, but for now, give us a decent 5-10 match that tells us what we need to know? Thanks.

Undertaker/Lesnar Preview: Get hyped, stay hyped, because this match is gonna be pretty awesome. I finally had a chance to listen to the newest Cheap Heat podcast, and it was pointed out this match is around 13 years after their big HIAC match. History!

Main Event: Great match, all in all. At this point I don’t think New Day can do any wrong, whether it’s in promos or in-ring action. Dudleys continue to show they can hang with the new blood, and Dean is just all kinds of amazing as always.

Well, that does it for this week. What did you think of SmackDown? Am I crazy for still being a Zack Ryder fan? On a scale of 1 to YES, how happy are you that the Lana/Rusev/Summer/Dolph angle is over? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter @Power2TheSmarks!

Til next time, this is Alex Kahrs reminding you to be excellent to each other. Party on, dudes!
