-Also announced for “Death Before Dishonor IX” (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/the-briscoesanx-war-rages-on/), The Briscoes and The All Night Express will battle once again in a match with the stipulation to be decided later. As seen in the most recent ROH Video Wire (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/roh-video-wire-81711/), a fight recently broke out in the parking lot at the Frontier Fieldhouse where Rhett Titus attempted to use a ladder as a weapon against the Briscoe’s. It is no secret after watching the abovementioned Video Wire that the Briscoe Brothers want a Ladder War to settle this rivalry once and for all. ROH officials are very hesitant to revisit this dangerous stipulation a 3rd time due to the potential risks to the wrestlers and not to mention the negative impression it may have on the new owners. ROH officials have debated many different stipulations this match could have and feel it may be in everyone’s best interest at this time to keep the Ladder War on hiatus. Once this news hit both teams were very upset and made it known to ROH officials and through the social media networks. “In my 5+ years w @ringofhonor I’ve never asked for anything! But dammit I want this damn war w the Briscoes to end, n theres 1way #LADDERWAR.” This was from Rhett Titus via Twitter, Titus made many other tweets regarding a Ladder War as did Kenny King and Jay Briscoe. – The first talent line-up for ROH’s return to Louisville, KY on October 1st was announced earlier today (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/first-talent-announced-for-louisville-return/). Expect more talent to be set in the coming weeks as we get closer to our 2nd round of TV Tapings for the Sinclair Broadcasting family of networks. – Tommaso Ciampa and The Embassy have officially signed for “Death Before Dishonor IX” on September 17th, 2011 from New York City LIVE on iPPV! Ciampa has never been pinned or made to submit which makes him the only undefeated wrestler currently on the roster. It will be interesting to see how long Nana’s project can continue his dominant streak.
– The ROH World Tag Team Champions Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin will each compete in singles action at “Death Before Dishonor IX” on September 17th according to ROH officials. In the one year that Haas and Benjamin have been in ROH they have each only had one singles bout. ROH officials wanted to not only give NYC something a little different but they also wanted to put some of the younger singles competitors in the ring with two of Ring of Honor’s most credible athletes.
– When asked about the pending championship match that Future Shock (Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly) are entitled to have, ROH officials responded by saying they are next in line to challenge for the belts and it will happen very soon.
– Steve Corino and Jimmy Jacobs are excited to be apart of “Death Before Dishonor IX” on 9/17 and assure ROH officials and fans that they will not bring any negativity around and are focused on climbing the ranks the proper way. “We understand that we have to slowly earn everyone’s trust.” stated Jacobs. “The end game is to ultimately be accepted as good people who can be trusted and looked up to. – Congratulations to Colt Cabana who will participate in his first tour of Pro Wrestling NOAH on the “Shiny Navigation 2011” series. The tour will begin for Cabana on 9/10 and wrap up on 9/23 at Korakuen Hall. Good luck Cabana!
