TNA Impact Wrestling Results
Orlando, Florida (Impact Zone)
March 7, 2013
Commentators: Mike Tenay, Taz, & Todd Keneley
Report by: Josh Boutwell of Wrestleview.com

This is it, the final Impact in the “Impact Zone.” TNA has been running shows there since 2004, back when I was in high school. Now, TNA wraps up their tenure in the place that’s been its home for almost a decade with one final Impact.

Impact opens up with a tribute to Paul Bearer (R.I.P.), who did work in TNA briefly under the Percy Pringle moniker, and then the Impact intro hits with highlights from last week.

Kurt Angle arrives to the building and he says tonight we’ll find out who was under that mask. He holds it up and says that he’s shocked and pissed off and says that it will affect the whole company. Angle says it hasn’t told a soul all week but he’s going to reveal the S.O.B. to the whole world tonight. Angle says no one in TNA is safe and tonight everyone will find out why.

Pyro in the arena goes off and then Austin Aries makes his way down to the ring. Aries says if there is a better way to start Impact live it hasn’t been discovered yet, because we’re looking at the “common denominator of greatness” which means wherever Austin Aries is greatness is sure to follow. Aries says he can’t seem to get a hold of his partner Bobby Roode but that’s okay because last week without him being here he still got the job done and took out Hernandez to prove that being “Super Mex” isn’t as good as being the greatest man that ever lived. He says after his victory he graciously went out and found Ray & Hardy and gave them some words of confidence for their big World Title Match at Lockdown. Aries says he didn’t have to take the time out of his schedule to do that but he did but of course they didn’t appreciate it. He says they disrespected him so now it’s a whole new game. He says that last week Bully Ray told him that he would never again be the World Heavyweight Champion but he’s about to prove him wrong because he’s calling out the World Heavyweight Champion right now and challenging him to a match and if he’s half the champion he says he is he’ll meet Aries right now and prove it!

Jeff Hardy’s music hits and the World Champion doesn’t disappoint Aries!

Non-Title Match
“A-Double” Austin Aries vs. “Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy

Aries attacks Hardy as he comes to the ring with a Diving Savage Axe Handle Drop onto Hardy on the floor! Aries picks up Hardy’s custom belt and calls it a piece of trash before throwing it down. Aries tosses Hardy into the ring as the fans are losing their minds chanting “Hardy.” Aries chokes Hardy with his t-shirt and then connects with a series of body shots as Mike Tenay says that Aries told him earlier today that he had something special planned tonight that would put him right back into the World Title picture post-Lockdown. Aries whips Hardy into the corner and then connects with a Running Back Elbow followed by a Snapmare Takeover for a nearfall. Aries then hits a Knee Drop for another nearfall as dueling “Austin Aries-Let’s Go Hardy” chants erupt. Aries beats on Hardy in the corner and chokes him on the bottom rope while talking trash to him. Aries then slingshots over the top into an elbow onto Hardy’s head. Back in the ring Aries covers Hardy for yet another nearfall and then he continues to connect with punches and kicks to Hardy. Hardy explodes with a comeback with a barrage of punches that sends Aries reeling. Hardy mounts Aries in the corner and reigns down punches and then attempts to whip Aries into the opposite corner, but Aries reverses it and charges at Hardy. Hardy floats up into an attempting a Headscissors out of the corner but Aries blocks it and tosses Hardy over the top rope sending him crashing to the floor hard! Hardy sells the knee on the floor as if he has reinjured it and Aries mocks Hardy in the ring.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Back from the break Aries continues to beat the champion down in the ring. Hardy attempts another comeback but as he hits a Sunset Flip, Aries rolls through and connects with a Basement Dropkick! 1…2…NO Hardy kicks out and Aries starts showing some frustration. Aries taunts the crowd and then attempts a Vertical Suplex but Hardy blocks it and rolls Aries up! 1…2…NO Aries kicks out and immediately jumps up and nails Hardy with a Lariat! 1…2…NO Hardy kicks out again! Aries argues with the referee and then boxes Hardy’s ears in the corner and then lights him up with chops. Hardy starts another come back with a series of kicks. Dixie Carter has revealed on her Twitter that more dates have been announced for Impact: Indiana, PA (04/25), Tupelo, MS (05/09), and Tampa, FL (05/23) with more to be announced soon. Hardy whips Aries into the corner and charges with a Splash attempt but Aries moves out of the way and then climbs up top. Aries mocks Hardy again and then dives off with a Frog Splash! 1…2…NO Hardy kicks out yet again and again Aries gets pissed at the referee! Hardy quickly rolls Aries up again, 1…2……NO Aries was able to squirm out at the last split second! Aries gets back up and attempts another Lariat, but Hardy ducks and then hits a Leaping Mule Kick! Hardy follows up with a Jawbreaker and then he connects with a Splash in the corner! Hardy attempts to whip Aries into the ropes but Aries reverses it and then sets up for the Rolling Elbow but Hardy explodes off the ropes with a Flying Forearm! Hardy attempts to whip Aries into the corner but he reverses it and then charges at Hardy only to eat a boot. Hardy then springs to the top and dives off with a Splash! 1…2…NO Aries kicks out! Hardy goes for the Twist of Fate but Aries shoves him into the corner only for Hardy to float up into a Spinning Head Scissors on the charging Aries! Aries goes flying out to the floor and Hardy follows with a Slingshot Dropkick through the ropes to Aries! Hardy then dives off the apron with a Plancha onto Aries on the floor! It looks like a fans sign or banner got caught on Aries as it’s hung hilariously around his neck. Hardy rolls Aries back into the ring and then climbs up top but Aries nails him with the Rolling Elbow knocking him down onto the apron! Aries then tries to bring Hardy back in with the Brainbuster but Hardy blocks it and hits the Twist of Fate! Aries bounces off the ropes and Hardy connects with another one! Suddenly Matt Morgan slides into the ring and absolutely beheads Hardy with the Carbon Footprint!

Winner: Hardy via DQ

Morgan drags Hardy out of the ring as Aries screams at Morgan. Morgan places Hardy’s head against the ring post and goes for the Carbon Footprint again as Aries screams at him not to! Bully Ray runs out and stands between Morgan and Hardy with a chain which forces Morgan to back down. Morgan tells Ray this has nothing to do with him as Ray checks on Hardy.

In the back Sting talks to Team TNA and hypes them up for Lethal Lockdown. He tells Storm that he doubted Storm once and the fans did too and now it’s his chance to clear all doubt. He tells Magnus that he’s a “specimen” and he’s hungry and Samoa Joe isn’t about submitting someone Sunday night it’s about being on your mission. He tells Joe to be the killer that he is and Joe just intently stares forward like he’s ready to kill someone right now. Sting looks at EY and tells him that he’s the wild card and that he’s kissed a 15-foot Tiger Shark (on his reality show) and now the world is going to find out why he chose him. Sting screams and gets pumped as he tells them that he’s going to start things off tonight. He says he’ll face anyone that gets in his face tonight!

Footage of Aces & Eights jumping Angle last week is shown.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

In the back Matt Morgan says he knows what he wants and what he deserves, and Jeff Hardy is the World Champion. He says that Bully Ray is Hulk Hogan’s handpicked #1 contender. Morgan reminds us that he told Hogan that he would gut his entire roster until he got what he deserves and he’s just getting started.

A video package hyping up Brisco-Angle is shown. Kurt Angle says that Wes Brisco doesn’t know what pain is but he will.

Wes Brisco makes his way down to the ring as Tenay says we were expecting Kurt Angle right now but instead Wes is coming out. Taz teases that maybe Kurt “hit a detour” backstage. Wes says before Kurt can come out here and reveal the VP he’s got to get something off his chest. He says that his dad and uncle were some of the greatest wrestlers and they told him that Kurt was the best wrestler that they’ve ever seen. He says that he believed it and studied Kurt and wanted to be him until he got the chance to meet him. He says he realized how worthless Kurt really is just like the tin metal around his neck for a sport that the Olympics just kicked out. The fans are killing him with that “what” chant. Wes says that this Sunday inside the Steel Cage he’s going to be on top and he will use Kurt as a stepping stone. He says the whole world will know that a Brisco is better than an Angle.

Kurt Angle’s music interrupts Wes and he walks out onto the stage still holding the VP’s mask. Angle says he remembers things differently. He says that he remembers a snot nosed little kid always running up to him and asking questions, and wanting to learn more about that sport in the Olympics. He says that same kid growing up and calling him every single week to try and get him into TNA. He says that Wes isn’t like his dad or uncle because if he doesn’t support him then he doesn’t support the business. Kurt says he made a mistake when he trusted Wes but he will rectify that at Lockdown when he beats Wes within an inch of his life. Kurt says before he exposes the VP he’s not going to wait until Lockdown to whip his ass! Kurt his the ring and Wes actually goes for an Olympic style shoot and Kurt easily snuffs it out before starting to do just that and whoop Wes’s ass. Finally TNA agents pull them apart and Kurt screams at them as a “let them fight” chant erupts. Angle screams at D-Lo and points at him as Simon Diamond & Al Snow try to calm him down. D-Lo Brown then suddenly kicks Angle in the balls! He then decks Snow and Wes decks Simon Diamond! D-Lo smiles at Wes and then he picks up the mask and looks at the camera. D-Lo grabs the mic and says he thought he’d come down and reclaim a little club property and then raises the mask up. D-Lo says that since Kurt already knows then he’ll go ahead and spoil Kurt’s big surprise. D-Lo says the fact of the matter is that he’s the VP of Aces & Eights. D-Lo tells Kurt to recognize that and then walks away with Wes.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

In the back Aces & Eights celebrate the beat down on Angle and D-Lo says he’ll never take his cut off again. He tells Devon to go take care of business and get them the man advantage for Lockdown. D-Lo says from day one he was told by Aces & Eights he would never walk alone and he knows he can trust each and every one of them with his life. D-Lo asks Sting if he can say the same thing about Team TNA. He asks Sting if he can actually trust the guys he’s going to be locked in the cage with.

Back in the arena Devon has made his way down to the ring.

Lethal Lockdown 3-Match Series Match #1
Devon vs. “The Icon” Sting

These are the two captains for Lethal Lockdown representing Aces & Eights and Team TNA. The team that wins this 3-Match Series will get the man advantage at Lockdown. Sting jumps Devon as he gets in the ring and whips him into the ropes but Devon explodes off the ropes with a Spear! Devon beats Sting down in the corner and then connects with a clothesline for a nearfall. Devon puts Sting in a chinlock but Sting fights out with body shots until Devon pokes him in the eyes. Devon hit’s a Hangman’s Neckbreaker for a nearfall. A “Let’s go Sting” chant starts as Devon chokes Sting in the ropes. Devon hit’s a Scoop Slam and then climbs up top and dives off with a Diving Headbutt attempt, but Sting rolls out of the way and connects with a backhand and then a clothesline! Sting hits another clothesline and then the Stinger Splash in the corner! Sting clotheslines Devon over the top and follows him out. Sting slams Devon into the guardrail and then tosses him into the guardrail across the way. Sting slams Devon into the ring steps and then back into the guardrail. A fan at ringside grabs Sting and then tosses beer into his face! What the hell? The fan screams at Sting as Earl Hebner gets security to come get him. Devon slams Sting into the ring post and then tosses him back in the ring. Devon hits a Big Boot, 1…2…3!

Winner: Devon via pinfall (Big Boot)

Sting seems to be busted open pretty bad as Devon celebrates over him.

The Knockouts from last week’s Gut Check are backstage waiting.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

In the back Velvet Sky says it’s a dream come true to win the KO Title back at Wembley Arena, but then Gail Kim walks up and thanks her for keeping the title “shiny” for her. Velvet says she’s surprised that Velvet & Terrell haven’t split the title since they both screwed Gail out of it. She puts Velvet on warning for Lockdown and reminds her that she has beat Velvet before and that she’s undefeated at Lockdown. Gail screams at Velvet and tells her that she’s talking to her so pay attention. Velvet slaps Gail and asks her if she heard that and then walks away.

Earlier Bruce Prichard & Al Snow talk about Gut Check and Bruce says that Taz won’t be a judge anymore due to the Aces & Eights thing. Snow asks who they are going to replace him when OVW Trainer Danny Davis walks in and Prichard says it will be Danny. They talk about the two girls from last week and Danny says Felez really impressed him because she turned down an MMA fight just to come and do that match. Snow says that Tapa had an amazing presence and Snow reminds them that she’s a 2nd generation wrestler too. Prichard says that Tapa seemed to be nervous and not sure enough and Snow says she is raw but she has a ton of potential.

Backstage the judges approach the girls and says this is a tough one and it may be the toughest one they’ve ever done. Snow is selling the beat down he just took. Prichard eliminates Felez from consideration and she doesn’t seem too thrilled. She shakes their hands but is obviously not happy as she walks away.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Kaz then spits at Hernandez and as Terrell stops Hernandez from coming in, Bad Influence does the old heel phantom tag and Daniels puts the boots to Chavo. Daniels hits an Elbow Drop and then locks in a chinlock again. Daniels drops the hold and knocks Hernandez off the apron and blows a kiss to Velvet. As he turns around Chavo connects with a dropkick! Chavo tags in Velvet and Gail tags herself in! Velvet hits a Running Clothesline followed by a second one and then a Back Elbow. Velvet hits the ropes and connects with a Spinning Headscissors! Footage of the D-Lo Brown reveal earlier is shown.

Sting is going ballistic backstage hitting things with his bat and screaming at his teammates asking if they can trust each other. Joe gets pissed and screams at Sting that he can trust him to get the damn job done and he can trust HIM. Magnus laughs and says he knows where they’re going with that comment. Magnus says they’re at war and he’ll show them just who he is and walks away. Joe tells Sting that he has a fight to get into and walks away.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

The biker definitely looks like he’s wearing an Aces & Eights vest and AJ goes ape shit and grabs the director and slams him against his vehicle. Joe and Magnus are former TNA Tag Champs together. Joe and Garett lockup and Joe puts Garett in a wristlock, but Garett reverses it only for Joe to quickly reverse it right back. In the back Lai’d Tapa walks back and forth.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

In the back Kenny King talks about his X-Division Title win and this dude actually has the X-Division logo cut into the back of his hair (it is really hard to not like Kenny King). King says that his daddy told him to “say what you mean and mean what you say” and ever since he stepped foot in TNA he’s been saying that he is the star of the X-Division. He says that RVD is a legend but Kenny King is a rising star and he took the belt from RVD and he won’t look back. King says you can bring challengers on one at a time or 3 at a time, it doesn’t matter and it starts at Lockdown. He says it doesn’t matter who they bring because he’ll shut them down. King says if you thought that he would do whatever it takes to get the belt, you don’t want to see what he’ll do to keep it.

In the back EY and ODB talk about some random crap until Sting walks up looking a damn psychopath. EY stops rambling and says he gets it, Sting has to pick him or Storm for this last match. He says he knows he’s the “funny guy” but then he gets in Sting’s face and tells Sting to look into his eyes and tell him if he thinks there is a damn thing that EY thinks is funny about what Aces & Eights did to him. EY says they tried to take away one of the things he loves most in life and he will never forget it. EY says he’s been in a lot of wars in TNA but every one of them he’s stepped up and met it head on. EY says that Sting had a feeling about him and he put him on this team. EY tells Sting to put him in the match tonight and he’ll show him why he made the right choice and if he’s waiting on a punch line, it ain’t coming. Sting smiles and thanks him but says tonight he has to go with Storm. Sting says EY is his wild card and then EY wishes Storm luck.

Back in the ring for the Gut Check for Tapa. The fans actually boo her and she starts to bark back at them and then they chant “NO” LOUDLY at her. Tapa says last week she showed everyone in TNA and all of the fans what she’s capable of doing. She yells at the fans to be quiet and then says that she may have not won but her character shone and she says in two years only she’s already where she’s at and imagine what she’ll be in two more years. Danny Davis says he listened to the crowd and they’re saying no but what they’re missing is what he knows and has seen from her. He says that he sees a future in her and he says yes. Prichard briefly talks about Paul Bearer passing away and he says “Poo Bear, you’ll be missed and I love you” as a “Rest In Peace” chant breaks out. Prichard says she has the pedigree and has a great look but for the first time ever he’s going to agree with the fans and say NO. Tapa says that 2 years she started in the wrestling business and last week she came to show what she’s capable of doing, and she may have lost last week but she knows what she can do in the future. She says knows what she can bring to the Knockouts Division and she can dominate and bring something great. Snow pays tribute to Paul Bearer as well and then says he knows Tapa’s uncle and he sees her potential and he sees that she clearly evokes a reaction from the crowd. Snow’s answer is YES and the fans boo her as she celebrates.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

In the back Robbie E says Rule #1 in the Book of Bro you never outshine another bro so because of that he had to break his VIP sign over Terry’s head. Robbie says that’s just a taste of what’s going to happen at Lockdown and Rob Terry will never be on the List again.

Lethal Lockdown Best of 3 Series Match #3
Mr. Anderson vs. “Cowboy” James Storm

Storm follows up with a Hip Toss and then he walks into a poke in the eyes from Anderson followed by a clothesline. Anderson puts the boots to Storm and then he whips Storm into the corner hard and covers him for a nearfall. Anderson puts the boots to Storm again and then slams his shoulder into Storm’s shoulder repeatedly, but Storm answers with an armdrag. Anderson bounces back up and takes Storm down with a shoulder block for a nearfall. Anderson puts Storm in a wristlock but Storm breaks it with right hands. Storm and Anderson exchange right hands but then Anderson shoves him into the ropes only to eat a Flying Forearm followed by an Atomic Drop from Storm! Storm bounces off the ropes and nails Anderson with a Bulldog! Storm charges at Anderson in the corner but gets backdropped to the apron. Storm recovers and hits a Leaping Enziguri and then comes back in and hit’s a Neckrbeaker! Storm charges at Anderson but he sidesteps Storm sending him over the top. Storm holds onto the ropes and skins the cat back into the ring and then kicks Anderson’s arm away as he goes for a clothesline. Storm then goes for a clothesline of his own but Anderson counters into a Spinning Neckbreaker attempt, but Storm counters right back into the Closing Time! Aces & Eights begin walking down to the ring as Storm sets up for the Last Call. That distracts Storm long enough for Anderson to recover but then Team TNA runs down to get between Aces & Eights and the ring. Anderson grabs Storm and hit’s the Mic Check! 1…2…3!

Winner: Anderson via pinfall (Mic Check)

In the back Bully Ray kisses Brooke Hogan as he gets ready to come out to the ring with the faceoff with Hardy.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Back from the break Todd runs down the card for Lockdown and then Jeff Hardy & Bully Ray come down to the ring.

Bully says it’s 3 days until he and Jeff are locked inside a steel cage and the word on the street this will be the biggest TNA PPV of all time. Ray says it’s 3 days until Bully Ray & Jeff Hardy do what they do best, and that is make wrestling history. Ray says they’ve done it before and they’ll do it again. He says that he’s going to say something to Jeff that he’s never said before, the fact that Jeff holds that belt is a pretty big deal but the fact that Jeff has battled back from so many personal demons is a bigger deal. Ray says he knows he speaks for every fan that he is proud of him. Hardy gives him a fist bump and then he says every since he’s been World Champion he’s taken some beatings but he remains the champion. Hardy says he knows Ray is going to beat the hell out of him but he asks Ray will it be enough. Hardy says whatever happens he wants Ray to know that he’s also proud of him as well for everything he’s done.

Ray says he’s proud of his own accomplishments and the history that he and Jeff have made in the past, but he’s never really been proud of himself. He says he’s expected greatness from himself and he expected to be one half of one of the greatest tag teams of all time. He says that he never looked in the mirror and said that he was proud of himself and he won’t ever be able to until he has that title. Ray says he isn’t going over the cage or through the front door, he’s beating Hardy with his best move and that’s when he’ll be proud of himself. Ray says he’ll be proud of himself when he pins Hardy and raises his hand as TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

Hulk Hogan’s music hits and the GM makes his way out on the stage with the aid of crutches. Hogan says this is as big as it gets and there is a locker room full of guys in the back that have worked their entire lives to get where Hardy & Ray are right now. Hogan says Bully & Hardy are the best of the best right now and at the end of the day this small company became a good company and it’s going to go onto greatness. Hogan says everyone in TNA is looking for the next leader and if he has to crawl to San Antonio he’ll be there to find out who the next leader will be. He puts over both Hardy & Ray and then says at the end of the day, “may the best man win.” Hardy and Ray then shake hands and Aces & Eights suddenly appear!

They hit the ring and attack but then Team TNA hits the ring and the brawl is on as Impact goes off the air with Todd asking what will happen at Lockdown.
