Dark Angel/Sarita Turns Rudo/Heel

Current CMLL and TNA luchadora/Knockout, Dark Angel (known in TNA as Sarita), went rudo/heel last week on Impact when she turned on her tag team partner (for the better part of the last year) Taylor Wilde following Taylor Wilde’s loss to TNA Knockouts Champion: Madison Rayne (see my recap here for the results: click here). Sarita and Taylor Wilde had been teasing tension the last few weeks on TNA’s International TV show (and web series) “Xplosion”. Sarita nailed Taylor with a vicious right hand at the end of the brawl:

LUCHA LIBRE SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK:
LUCHA LIBRE-USA

THE STARS OF LUCHA LIBRE-USA

Lizmark Jr.
Height: 6’2″
Weight: 260 lbs.
Birthplace: Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico
Trainer: Lizmark Sr.
Lizmark Jr. (also known as Hijo de Lizmark) is the son of the legendary luchador Lizmark Sr. who has traveled all across the world competing in various promotions. Lizmark Jr. competed in WCW as a young star in the cruiserweight division in the mid-late 90’s and also competed in both AAA and CMLL. He made his biggest impact in CMLL where he became one of the top rudos and a member of Los Perros del Mal. Lizmark took the hair of Mascara Ano 2000 before losing his mask to Blue Panther in 2007. Lizmark will once again don the legendary mask of his father in Lucha Libre USA.

Pequeno Halloween
Height: 5’3″
Weight: 143 lbs.
Tijuana, Baja California
Trainers: Rey Misterio Sr., Psicosis (original), Fobia, Medico Asesino, & Satanico
Pequeno Halloween spent the majority of his career in CMLL where he became one of the best minis in the promotion. In the last two years, however, Pequeno Halloween has competed in Japan as much as he has in Mexico. He was trained in the late 1990’s by Rey Misterio Sr., Nicho el Millionario (then known as the original Psicosis), Nicho’s brother Fobia, Medico Asesino, and Satanico so he has a great pedigree.

Mascara Purpura
Height: 5’5″
Weight: 176 lbs.
Birthplace: Florida, United States
Trainers: Mario Segura & Gran Markus Sr.
Mascara Purpura is an extremely young star and the son of “El Ninja” Mario Segura. Purpura made his debut in 2005 after being trained by his father and the legendary Gran Markus. Purpura fits in well in Lucha Libre USA as he was born in the United States and speaks fluent English. He has spent the majority of his young career in CMLL and is best known for his incredible high flying moves.

Octagoncito
Height: 4’3″
Weight: 101 lbs.
Birthplace: Unknown
Trainers: Anima, Rayo Vengador, & El Torbellino
This is the original Octagoncito who wrestled for AAA in the 90’s (not the current AAA Minis Champion). Octagoncito has won many big matches including Mask vs. Mask and Title Matches. He is a former Mexican National Minis Champion as well as WWA Minis Champion, and currently holds the PWR World Minis Championship in the United States.

Chi Chi
Height: unknown
Weight: 210 lbs.
Birthplace: San Francisco, California
Trainers: unknown
One of the Lucha Libre Exotico’s and partners with Tigresa Caliente.

Sydistiko
Height: unknown
Weight: 180 lbs.
Birthplace: Seattle, Washington
An American masked star who is said to be “sadistic and ruthless” grew up idolizing Lizmark Jr., now is his ‘minion’.

Super Nova
Height: 5’5″
Weight: 170 lbs.
Birthplace: Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico
Trainers: Texano Sr., Vaquero, & Satanico
Super Nova is another very young high flying star in LL-USA. Nova made his debut in 2002 in CMLL and has worked the majority of his career there. Super Nova has a very good bloodline to go along with his technical abilities as he is the son of Texano Jr. and the brother of Texano Jr. (as well as the cousin of Mictlan). Super Nova has wrestled in Europe as well as America (where he wrestled a match in ECW in 2009 alongside an unmasked Incognito). He was also shortly signed with the WWE as a developmental talent in FCW before being released.

Charly Malice (aka Charly Manson)
Height: 5’9″
Weight: 181 lbs.
Birthplace: Mexico City, Mexico
Trainers: Hombre Bala
The former Charly Manson (he either changed his name due to the negative image that name has in America or because AAA owns it) comes to LL-USA after his lengthy career in AAA. Malice is one of the more popular stars in Mexico and has been known as one of the better luchadores as well (despite several serious knee injuries). Malice has held several belts (including the Mexican National Heavyweight Title, Mexican National Atomicos Titles, and the UWA Lightweight Title, among others). Malice was one-third of Los Hell Brothers alongside Cibernetico & Chessman at one time. His brother is current AAA star Electroshock.

RelliK
Height: 6’2″
Weight: 250 lbs.
Birthplace: Atlanta, Georgia
Trainers: Paul Orndorff & Dwayne Bruce
RelliK started out his career as part of The Mamalukes in WCW as Johnny Stamboli. He won the WCW Tag Team Championships with partner Big Vito as well as the WCW Hardcore Title. After WWE bought WCW Stamboli eventually joined the company and became part of the F.B.I. faction alongside Chuck Palumbo & Little Guido (aka Nunzio). After his WWE career was over Stamboli revamped his look and gimmick donning a mask and wrestling under a creepy gimmick. He started out as RedruM (Murder spelled backwards) but then had his name changed to RelliK (Killer spelled backwards) when he joined TNA. After leaving TNA he continued to wrestle as RelliK and even competed in AAA last year. RelliK is definitely one of the more unique stars in LL-USA.

Amazing Kong (aka Awesome Kong)
Height: 5’9″
Weight: 272 lbs.
Birthplace: Carson, California (though she is billed as hailing from Tokyo, Japan)
Trainers: Jesse Hernandez and All Japan Dojo
Kong is best known for her time as the dominating Awesome Kong in TNA Wrestling where she won both the TNA Knockouts Championship and the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship (with Hamada) as well as her big feud with Gail Kim in 2008. Kong has also wrestled all over the world, most notably in Japan as part of the HUSTLE promotion as well as All Japan Pro Wrestling. Kong is seen as one of the best females wrestlers in the world.

Mini Park
Height: uknown
Weight: unknown
Birthplace: unknown
Trainers: L.A. Park
Not to be mistaken as the deceased La Parkita or the current La Parkita in AAA. He is believed to have been trained by L.A. Park and is the mini version of him. Not much is known about the young star.

Magno
Height: 6’1″
Weight: 215 lbs.
Birthplace: Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua
Trainers: El Pirata, Babe Sharon, & Hurricane Hector
Magno made his debut in 1999 and has mainly wrestled on the independent scene in both Mexico and the United States since. His biggest times were probably his membership of Team Mexico in TNA Wrestling’s 2006 World X-Cup. Magno has also competed for Ring of Honor in America as well as CHIKARA. Magno is yet another good, young high flyer.

RJ Brewer (aka John Walters)
Height: 6’0″
Weight: 225 lbs.
Birthplace: Framingham, Massachusetts
Trainers: Killer Kowalski
Walters has primarily wrestled on the independent circuit in America as well as some in Japan. He also wrestled for Ring of Honor from 2003-2006 as well as signing a developmental deal with the WWE.

Mascarita Dorada
Height: 4’5″
Weight: 110 lbs.
Birthplace: Veracruz, Mexico
Trainers: Indio Vitela
Dorada is widely considered to be the best Lucha Mini in all of Lucha Libre and is known for his incredible hurricanrana and head scissors variations. Dorada has competed all over the world and for both AAA and CMLL. He’s also held titles in both AAA and CMLL. He is the brother of El Novillerito and Misteriosito.

El Oriental
Height: 5’6″
Weight: 176 lbs.
Birthplace: Plan Deportivo Sexenal
Trainers: Blue Panther & Dr. Wagner Sr.
Oriental is one of the more seasoned wrestlers and one of the bigger names on the LL-USA roster. Oriental is a near 20 year veteran and has spent the bulk of his career in AAA. He recently debuted in CMLL where he is currently feuding with Mistico. Oriental has wrestled all over the world including America and Japan. Oriental won the AAA Mixed Tag Team Titles as well as the CMLL Japan Tag Team Titles (with Tsubasa). Oriental is apart of the great Moreno family, his father being Alfonso Moreno and his sisters being Alda, Esther, Rossy, & Cinthia Moreno. Oriental was trained by two legends, the late Dr. Wagner Sr. and Blue Panther.

Tinieblas Jr.
Height: 6’4″
Weight: 238 lbs.
Birthplace: Mexico City
Trainers: Felipe Ham Lee and Fantasma de la Quebrada
This 20 year veteran is the son of the legendary Tinieblas. Tinieblas Jr. has been a big star in Lucha Libre for 20 years most recently competing for IWRG. Tinieblas Jr. brings a legendary name to the LL-USA promotion.

Marco Corleone
Height: 6’6″
Weight: 265 lbs.
Birthplace: Auburn, New York
Trainers: Paul Orndorff
Corleone’s career started in WCW where he was trained and became a part of the Natural Born Thrillers tag team where he won the Tag Team Titles twice with partner Sean O’Haire. After a brief stint in the WWE Marco came to Mexico where he quickly became a huge star in CMLL. After a few years in CMLL he jumped ship to AAA where again he was a top star in the promotion. He has since left and is one of the leaders of this Lucha Libre-USA promotion.

Neutronic (aka Neutron)
