Estrellita Ends Blanca’s 4-year Title Regin
On the 11/27 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara event Estrellita pinned Princesa Blanca and ended her nearly 4-year title reign with the Mexican National Women’s Championship.
CMLL in Japan
Rush & Diamante Azul of CMLL continued their tour of New Japan this week as a part of the NJPW World Tag League Tournament. Rush & Azul upset Tanaka & Yujiro but then fell to Killer Elite Squad (Davey Boy Smith Jr. aka David Hart Smith of WWE and the son of British Bulldog & former TNA star Lance Archer aka Lance Hoyt aka Lance Rock) and Nakanishi & former CMMLL star Strong Man. After former WWE stars Shelton Benjamin & MVP defeated them on 11/28 Azul & Rush will have finished in last place in their block of the tournament. They’ll finish up their tour of Japan this weekend.

Pantera I Controversy
A couple of weeks ago CubsFan at the LuchaBlog (www.thecubsfan.com/cmll) reported about a wrestler using the name “Pantera I” recently (not El Pantera, the former WWE star and legend), but found it to be very fishy since the last anyone had heard about “Pantera I” was that he had died in the 90’s. This week Kin Taniya of SuperLuchas Magazine wrote a column ripping CubsFan and accusing him of being a liar and making things up because of this. The LuchaBlog is one of the best (maybe THE best) English language source for Lucha Libre and I get news/rumors/results from there weekly (not the only place but the best place) as do many others (along with videos as well). Calling him a liar was way out of bounds especially for a columnist for a major Lucha Libre magazine columnist. I don’t know if this “Pantera I” is the real guy (it very well could be and the death reports years ago COULD have been false) but accusing someone of being a liar and calling them out in public rather than using the multiple ways he could have contacted CubsFan personally (twitter, e-mail, etc.) was extremely wrong and uncalled for.
