Hello everyone and welcome to this week’s Ring of Honor Wrestling on Sinclair recap. If you all are ready, then let’s get to the show!
We see the usual intro, then Kevin Kelly welcomes us to the show and we go right to the ring where match-maker Nigel McGuinness is in the ring, flanked by security.
Nigel: “Ladies and gentlemen, at this time, I would like to introduce………..Jay Lethal!”
Lethal’s music hits and he comes out to the ring, sporting an “Honor Lives” t-shirt.
Nigel: “And ladies and gentlemen, at this time, I would also like to introduce Ring of Honor World Champion, Kevin Steen!”
Steen’s music hits and he comes out to the ring, flanked by the rest of S.C.U.M.
Nigel: “OK Jay, you asked for this opportunity to talk, this is your opportunity”.
Lethal: “Kevin Steen, first of all I’m surprised you had the b***s to come out here”.
Crowd goes “Ohhhhhhh” at that.
“But, I see wherever Kevin Steen goes, his “SCUM bags” are sure to follow”. “I don’t even know why you brought them out here, this isn’t about them, or these security guards, or even Nigel McGuinness, this is about me and you, Kevin”. “I wanted you out here so I could ask you like a man to accept my challenge for that Ring of Honor World Title”.
Corino goes up and grabs the mic from Lethal.
Corino: “Jay Lethal, HOW DARE YOU?” “This is the World Champion, I thought your beautiful mother would have taught you a lot more respect than that”. “In fact, you’re sitting here complaining that he won’t face you again? “Young man, you gotta understand that your mother got spit on because YOUR FATHER, that INGRATE, threw water on Kevin Steen”. “When in fact, he should have thrown in the towel”.
Lethal gets in Corino’s face and begins to shove him.
Corino: “You angry at me, Jay?” “Well, let me give you another fact”. “You will………
Steen grabs the mic away from Corino and moves him aside so he can hear what Lethal has to say.
Lethal: “Kevin, I wanna tell ya, you’re not a REAL Ring of Honor Champion, you’re not like the other great Ring of Honor champions”. “In fact, you’re a vile human being, Kevin, who spits in the face of 58 year old women, you’re a disgusting human being who only cares about himself”. “And Kevin, you said you’re here to destroy Ring of Honor, to kill it, because years ago, Ring of Honor did you wrong, so now you’re back for revenge, back to kill it”. “And how you’re gonna kill it, Kevin?” “You said you’ll kill it by beating every single Ring of Honor wrestler in the back that believes that HONOR LIVES”. “Well, the biggest believer is standing in your face, challenging you for your Ring of Honor World Title and you’re telling the world that you’re too scared!”
Steen goes to talk, but Lethal cuts him off.
“Kevin, not only are you too scared, but you fail to realize that we actually need each other”. “Because I need you, Kevin, to fulfill my dream of becoming the Ring of Honor World Champion”. “And whether you realize it or not, you need me, you need to defeat me to stick it to Ring of Honor and what better way to stick it to Ring of Honor then defeating one of the honorable men back there, one of the MOST honorable men, ME!”
Jacobs & Corino continue to mouth to Lethal that his title shot is never gonna happen before Lethal speaks again.
“And the sad part, is I KNOW, I know that I can beat you for that Ring of Honor World Title and you know why?” “Because I’m fueled by much more than winning that belt, I’m FUELED by my family, I’m FUELED by my hatred for you”. “Kevin, I’m fueled by my confidence that TELLS ME, I DESERVE TO BE RING OF HONOR WORLD CHAMPION!”
Corino yells at Lethal, “YOU HAD YOUR SHOT!”
“And I’m looking at you, Kevin, and I can see it, I see it, its clear as day, you know it deep down inside that until you beat me, YOU AIN’T S**T!”
Crowd goes “Ohhhhhhhhhh” for that as that seems to incense Steen.
“KEVIN STEEN, I challenge you for that Ring of Honor World Title that you have hanging on your shoulder”.
Steen goes to speak while Jacobs & Corino are constantly yelling at Lethal that the match will never happen. Steen then leaves the ring and starts to drop down off the apron, but stops himself, while still holding the mic.
Steen: “I accept”.
Jacobs & Corino can’t believe it while Lethal shakes his fists in victory, knowing that he now finally has his title shot against Kevin Steen. The crowd starts a “YES” chant while Corino is pleading with Nigel that Steen didn’t mean what he said as we go to commercial.
Before we come back from commercial, we see a hype promo for the 11th Anniversary iPPV on March 2nd in Chicago Ridge, Illinois as Veda Scott interviews “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin, who has a huge match signed for the show.
Elgin: “Huge?” “Huge is an understatement.” “Roddy, I’ve been waiting on this moment since Final Battle.” “But, you gotta ask yourself, what are you gonna do when Truth Martini won’t be at ringside?” “There’s no Book of Truth, there’s no help.” “Roddy, this time, its 2 out of 3 falls.” “You cheated me once, but do you really think you can beat me twice?’ “There’s not a chance.”
Back from commercial, Kelly & Seltzer talk about what just happened with Lethal & Steen, then introduce Truth Martini, who will be doing commentary for our opening match. Martini says that “The Poonani Predator” is back once again to talk the Top Prospect Tournament, then wonders out loud just who the hell Caleb Seltzer is.

Whitmer, no one knew who the hell you were until I threw you off the top rope in a Haasplex and dropped you 12 feet through the air on your head and through a table and I pinned you.” “And now, you get a TV Championship match?” “Well, that’s a bunch of crap.” “Which leads me next to you, Nigel McGuinness, you limy b**tard.” ‘You sit up here, all high and mighty.” “You think, because you have the pen, that you’re the man?” “You go book a Tag Team Gauntlet match, knowing that Shelton’s not here?”
A roll of toilet paper nails Haas in the back.
“Knowing that Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team can’t be in it?” “Well, that match, if you ask me, is a croc of crap and it doesn’t mean jack.”
Haas then notices a very skinny ringside attendant picking up all the toilet paper that was thrown at Haas.
“What on God’s green Earth are you doing?” “This is my time!” “Get your ass up, boy!” “Get your ass in the ring!” (The attendant had dropped down to the outside)
The attendant comes into the ring at Haas’ request.
Haas: “What’s your name?”

Haas: “Your name’s Brendall.” “Look at you, your name should be Hungry.” “Everytime I look at you, I wanna eat a cheeseburger.” “Actually, your name right now is now Cheeseburger.” “You wanna interrupt my time?” “Let me ask you, what gives you the credentials to be out here, right now, while I’m in the ring?” ‘Are you a wrestler?” “Who are you?”
Cheeseburger: “I’m a wrestler.”
Haas: “You’re a wrestler.”
Another roll of toilet paper nails Haas in the back.
So, you’re a wrestler, huh?” “Are you enrolled at the ROH dojo?”
Haas: “OK, so you’re a wrestler, you’re cleared to wrestle.” “Well now, I’m gonna give you your chance.”
More rolls of toilet paper nail Haas.
“Tonight, Charlie Haas, The Outlaw, versus Cheeseburger, right now, one-on-one.”
The crowd loudly chants for Cheeseburger as Haas drops the mic and removes his shirt, ready to go. Cheeseburger then does the same, showing off his very skinny frame.
