WWE SmackDown! live at the Halifax Metro Centre, Halifax, NS Saturday, May 15, 2010
Matt Hardy enters the arena and welcomes the crowd to the show. He’s interrupted by Drew McIntyre who hits the Future Shock. Out comes Kofi Kingston.
* Kofi Kingston defeats Drew McIntyre with Trouble In Paradise and mild distraction from Hardy. After the match, Matt hits the Twist of Fate and celebrates with Kingston
* Tonight’s special guest host is SmackDown! Diva Tiffany. She looked amazing and hyped up the crowd for a few minutes before the next match.
* Diva’s Championship Match: Champion Layla defeated challenger Kelly Kelly, who received a great pop.
* NXT Rookie Match Darren Young over David Otunga
* MVP defeated Shad Gaspard. Don’t know why but I think this could become a decent program on TV.
* Tiffany returns and throws some t-shirts out to the crowd.
* Cody Rhodes pinned Chris Masters after hitting Cross Roads/Rhodes. Cody referred to himself as ‘Uncommon’ Cody Rhodes and demanded Tony Chimel do a second announcement.
* Tag team match: Christian & Rey Mysterio defeated the SES members Luke Gallows and his mystery partner who went un-named. The MP wears camo and a black mask throughout the match. It could be Joey Mercury actually.
* WWE Championship: Big Show defeated champion Jack Swagger by disqualification when Swagger used the World Heavyweight Championship to drop Big Show. After the match, Show hits the knockout shot leaving Swagger to be helped to the back by referees. Show then celebrates the win with ringside fans.
The arena was sparsely filled compared to the Raw show back in September 09. Biggest pops were for Rey, Christian, Kelly Kelly and Big Show. Most heat was for Drew, Swagger and SES. Not the best show on paper but delivered in action I’d say. As long as people enjoyed it the event went over well.
