Sting

During his speech for his induction into the Class of 2016 WWE Hall of Fame on Saturday night in Dallas, Steve “Sting” Borden revealed he is now officially retiring.

“On this very night, at this very moment, I’m gonna finish my wrestling career under the WWE umbrella and I’m so proud of that. I am officially going to retire tonight.”

Sting ended his speech grabbing his baseball bat and putting on sunglasses adding, “I just want you to know that this isn’t goodbye. It’s see ya later.”

This announcement comes six months after Sting suffered spinal stenosis during a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match against Seth Rollins at the Night of Champions PPV back in September 2015. Sting has not wrestled since and a report by TMZ Sports a few weeks ago indicated it was likely he would be retiring.

  1. Awww. 🙁

Also, Mr. Martin, I HATE this new format for Wrestleview. I was posting a response on another storyline thread when this new format popped up. I thought I may have accidentally hit a link to another site. I was shocked to see it was actually Wrestleview I was looking at. It looks like WrestlingInc. or Wrestlenewz now, both sites that are far inferior to yours. Please change it back the way it was.

  2. I had to highlight your post just to read it. Please, Someone @ Wrestleview, make like AC/DC and go back in black!

  3. Six minutes later: Hey, I can read again! I still like the darker look better, but this is a start…

  4. WWE brought Sting back, just so they could finally kill him off, what a bunch of assholes! They bring back Warrior, give him an ominous speech to recite, and he’s dead the next day. Macho Man, comes back to shoot WWE commercials, and he dies abruptly soon after. Roddy Piper makes fun of Steve Austin, John Cena, and others on his podcast, Austin gets him fired from podcast1, and he’s dead less than a month later. I guess its all just coincidences…

  5. Just be patient. His short WWE in-ring career may be over, but that doesn’t mean he is totally done with them. His parting words at the HOF is the key.

  6. Here’s some other shocking news – 100% of wrestlers…die! It all makes sense, now! All that’s lacking from your theory is logic, chronology, a motive, and the fact that all of these “abrupt” deaths to middle-aged wrestlers who used steroids regularly for decades were independently confirmed as being due to natural causes. But I guess they were part of the conspiracy too, all to cover up for a company with very limited public influence in an industry considered socially unpopular! OMG!

Even if you’re trolling, it didn’t work. It didn’t make people’s blood boil, it just made people feel sorry for you and wonder if we need to hire a full-time nurse for you.

  7. Unfortunately the old layout is gone for good. However, we are 100% open to feedback on anything we can improve or change. What specifically do you not like about the new layout?

  8. calm down, accept and embrace change. besides, you’ll be totally acclimated to it within 48 hours. hang in there, you can do it!

  9. dark color scheme is definitely missed, an option to toggle on the black background would be nice. Also, it’s kind of off-putting that only three headlines are displayed on the main screen, too much scrolling is never fun. maybe make that font a little smaller?

  10. You are only seeing three headlines? Up top you should see three “top story” images and then below is the rest of the headlines. We have 15 marked to show in addition to the three top story images up top.

  11. i mean that only 3 headlines fit on my screen (granted, it’s not a big resolution). the top story banner takes up the entire screen space. it’s just the scrolling in general, it makes it seem that there’s less content on the site than there actually is

  12. also, the following site is a good reference point because it’s a bit similar (it’s in dutch though): http://tweakers.net/

just like this site, it has a top banner with the logo, top stories, a navigation bar with categories and the most recent news. contrary to the new wrestleview however, i can see all of this content in one click without scrolling, even without a huge resolution.

also if you go to the top right and click on the cog, it allows you to tweak some settings, like how many items you want to display, which color scheme, etc.

hope some of this feedback helps, doesn’t change anything about your awesome content!

  13. Don’t tell me to calm down,I am calm, but I’ll embrace what I want to embrace. Believe that.

  14. I don’t know about specifics but I just liked the old layout better. This one looks like WrestlingInc. which I think is a confusing mess of a site. The old Wrestleview layout was just easier to read for me anyway. I guess for one specific reason is that most of the headlines were visible on one screen and one didn’t have to scroll down so much to read pertinent information.
Maybe I’m just not giving it a fair chance since it kind of reminds me of other sites? I’ll try it out.
RIP old Wrestleview layout. You’ll be missed. 🙁
