  1. Exactly!! Lame booking…. even if it wasn’t recorded, it would have been a nice thing for only the Troops to see

  2. They already air 3 shows live every week: RAW, Smackdown Live, and 205 Live (which was taped this week due to Tribute to the Troops). Logistically and economically speaking taping Tribute to the Troops makes the most sense as it keeps the brands on their live event schedule, no sets need to transported and set up, no additional arena needs to be booked and it allows for editing and if necessary reshooting of botched or badly performed segments. Everything doesn’t have to be live. In fact, most TV shows are taped and aired later. Also, Tribute to the Troops has always been a taped show.

  3. I disagree. The Shield vs The Club, despite the way Gallows and Anderson have been booked, is a pay per per view match that deserves a build up and storyline not something thrown away as a dark match, even if it said dark match was to take place at Tribute to the Troops.

  4. Meh, Tribute to the Troops isn’t what it used to be. Having the shows taped from Afghanistan or Iraq was what made them special. If they’re not able to do that for some reason then having them taped on a military base was almost as good. The entire purpose behind Tribute to the Troops is/was bringing a little piece of America to the soldiers serving overseas or on bases to make their Christmases better since they couldn’t be home or with their families. When it’s just another crumby show from another crumby arena, it’s just another televised show with more military people in attendance and only serves as a shallow PR ploy. What once was something special & altruistic now only comes across as more of an afterthought than as a real appreciation for the military.
