NWA 70 Results

The NWA held its 70th Anniversary show from the Nashville Fairgrounds (aka the former TNA Asylum) in Nashville, Tennessee on Sunday night.

In the main event, in what was a rematch from September’s ALL IN event in Chicago, Nick Aldis defeated Cody Rhodes in a Best Two out of Three Falls match to become the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion live on Pay Per View and FITE TV.

Aldis won the first fall via submission, Cody took the second fall via pinfall from a Cross Rhodes and Aldis won the third fall by reversing a small package attempt by Cody to regain the NWA World Championship.

Other results from the show included:

* Crimson and Jax Dane def. Shannon Moore and Crazzy Steve.

* Willie Mack def. Sam Shaw in the finals of a tournament to become the NWA National Heavyweight Champion. Mack defeated Jay Bradley, Ricky Starks and Mike Parrow earlier in the night to advance, while Shaw defeated Colt Cabana, Sammy Guevara and Scorpio Sky in a fatal four way to also advance later in the evening.

* Jazz def. Penelope Ford to retain the NWA Worlds Women’s Championship.

* Tim Storm def. Peter Avalon.

* Barrett Brown def. Laredo Kid.

NWA President Billy Corgan and former 6-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett, who now works exclusively with FITE TV, were also in attendance tonight.

The company also announced the return of the Crockett Cup.
