Nick Khan confirms WWE plans for international PLEs

Speaking at the World Congress of Sports convention, WWE President Nick Khan provided an update on the company’s plans for future premium live event locations.

With upcoming PLEs already announced for France, Germany, Scotland, and Saudi Arabia, Khan noted that the “big five” events will continue to be held in either the United States or Canada, but that other events will continue to be considered for international locations.

On the importance of these international events, Khan stated:

“There’s a halo effect on those big deals. Merchandise sales, relevancy goes up, and who knows — is the next Yao Ming of that country watching [WWE] and wanting to do it in 10 years.”

During the convention, Khan also noted that WWE was not ready to announce the location for WrestleMania 41 just yet, with Las Vegas under consideration and the possibility of running later in April (or even May) to avoid going head-to-head with the Final Four.
