Report by: Josh Boutwell of Wrestleview.com

Impact Wrestling opens up this week highlights from last week focusing on Austin Aries and the AJ/Dixie/Crackhead drama.

In the back Dixie talks with AJ and she says she knows things didn’t happen like they had planned but she’s happy that they can just move on now. AJ agrees and says he’s going to “move on” right to the ring and beat the piss out of Kazarian & Daniels. AJ says this about revenge and he’s going to put the nail in the coffin for Crackhead Claire.

Taz and Tenay hype up the Main Event for tonight, AJ & Angle defending the tag straps against Kaz & Daniels and then we cut to the back where Dixie walks alongside Crackhead Claire. Cut to the ring and we’re going right into the first BFG Series Match tonight.

New World Title #1 Contender Austin Aries makes his way down to the ring still with the X-Division Championship. We will hear from him after the break.

——————————————-COMMERCIAL BREAK——————————————-

Back from the break Aries asks who’s ready for a dose of greatness and then says last week he stood in this ring with Hulk Hogan to make a decision that would not only effect his own career but the X-Division and TNA as a whole. He says the decision to relinquish the X-Division Title to get the shot to face Roode was not an easy decision to make. He says on one hand he has defeated every bit of the X-Division opposition put in his way and he also stepped into the Heavyweight division and defeated monsters like Bully Ray and Samoa Joe. He says he feels that he needed some “bigger” competition but he also has too much respect for the X-Division Title and wants to show that with Option C. Aries reminds us that every single year the X-Division Champion will get the opportunity to trade in the belt for a shot at the World Heavyweight Title. He says that when Hogan agreed to that stipulation it made his decision easy meaning he will be facing Roode for the World Heavyweight Championship, but that also means his days as X-Division Champion are now numbered. Aries says that leads to the question everyone is asking him, what’s going to happen to the X-Division now? Aries says there will be a Tournament at Destination X to crown a NEW X-Division Champion and in the back he saw some “old” X-Division faces and some “new” X-Division faces and they were all hungry for the same opportunity he got. Aries says last year he was given an opportunity and he went from a man with no contract to a man with a shot at the World Title in the Main Event at Destination X. Bobby Roode’s music cuts off the #1 Contender and the CHAMP makes his way down to the ring.

Roode says he couldn’t help but overhear how pathetically overconfident Aries was sounding tonight but Aries says that’s nothing new for him. Roode says that is up his alley but then tells Aries to take a good look at what Roode is holding (the World Title) and says that it is the REAL World Championship. He says it’s the real World Championship because he made that way. He says that he single handedly made it the most important thing in the industry and he is the most dominant World Heavyweight Champion in the history of TNA. Roode says Aries wants to come out and talk about opportunities and there are 12 men fighting for the opportunity to win the BFG Series to walk into the Main Event at BFG and face Roode and make a name for themselves against him. Roode says the only reason Aries got his opportunity for DX is because of Hulk Hogan. Aries starts to say something sarcastic but Roode screams at him to shutup because he’s not done talking. Roode says the only reason Aries gets a chance to stand in the ring with him is because of Hogan. He says what Option C really is, is nothing more than a failure because Aries is setting himself up for failure as well as setting the X-Division up for failure. He says at DX Bobby Roode will make sure Aries fails because he’s not even in Bobby’s league. Roode tells him to get the hell out of his ring.

Aries says this is HIS ring and since they both say it’s their ring then maybe he should make Aries leave and then slaps the microphone out of Roode’s hand! They square off and start getting in each other’s face before Roode laughs at Aries and then leaves the ring saying Aries isn’t even worth it as the fans shower him with boos. Roode says Aries isn’t worth his time.

Footage of the Crackhead Claire from last week is shown.

Earlier today Claire reveals that she met AJ through Dixie and she met Dixie through her mom who is friends with Dixie. Crackhead Claire says things got bad is when Kaz & Daniels found out that AJ was helping her. She hesitates a bit when asked if she knew Kaz and Daniels before this and then denies ever knowing them before.

Cut to Kaz and Daniels as Kaz freaks out over what’s going on. Kaz says he turned his back on his best friend (AJ) because Daniels convinced him and got him to buy into his bullsh*t. Kaz says it stops tonight but Daniels says they have the rematch tonight as Kaz walks out of the room.

——————————————-COMMERCIAL BREAK——————————————-

Rubix hits a Knee Strike to Sonjay and then hits the ropes but Sonjay catches him with a back elbow. Sonjay hits an armdrag of his own followed by a gorgeous hurricanrana that sends Jigsaw out to the floor! Rubix then hits a Sliding Knee that sends Dutt out to the floor and Rubix follows up with a Tope Suicida through the ropes onto Sonjay on the floor! Rubix rolls Sonjay back into the ring and then dives off the top but Sonjay catches him with a dropkick in midair! Rubix attempts to come back as he charges at Sonjay in the corner but Sonjay sidesteps him by sliding through the bottom and middle rope and then catching Rubix with a Seesaw kick. Dutt bounces off the ropes and catches Rubix with an insane Tilt-a-Whirl Spinning DDT! Rubix got spiked! Dutt climbs up top and hits an INSANE Moonsault Double Foot Stomp! 1…2…3!

Winner: Dutt via pinfall (Moonsault Double Foot Stomp)

Christy Hemme talks with Sonjay ringside and says he’s back for one thing as the fans chant “welcome back” at him, and that one thing is the one thing he never got in his first run in TNA: The X-Division Championship. Dutt says there ain’t no one in TNA that has swagger like him.

Joe still wearing the “Nation of Violence” gear, still not really sure as to why he switched ring gear back. Joe is currently in 2nd place with 17 points after a couple of wins at Live Events this past weekend. Ray gets in Joe’s face but he isn’t going to intimidate the Samoan Submission Machine and Joe backs Ray down. As it looks like they’re going to lock up Ray again backs away frustrating Joe and he does it a 3rd time before they finally lockup. Joe gets Ray in a wristlock but Ray reverses into one of his own. Joe reverses it into a side headlock but Ray shoves him into the ropes and the two monsters slam into each other with shoulder blocks! Ray elbows Joe’s arm repeatedly and Joe tries to answer with jabs but gets cut off with a rake of the eyes from the Bully. Ray follows up with a Vertical Suplex and then a Diving Headbutt! He uses the ropes for leverage everytime the referee checks on Joe. Joe gets the ropes to break the hold and Ray wraps Joe’s arm around the top rope and yanks on it while holding Joe back with his leg. Ray continues to punish Joe’s arm by Elbow Dropping it as Taz points out Ray taking Joe’s arm out could take away the Coquina Clutch. Joe retreats to the outside but he baits Ray to getting close and then he drags Ray out. After the match Park says he knows who Bully is but does Bully know who HE is? Park says he’s Joseph Park while Ray is nothing but a jackass bully. He says he was bullied his entire life from the playgrounds until law school and it ends right here. Park says this is about he and Ray as a “you tapped out” chant is directed at Ray. He says that he saw Ray bully everyone for long enough and he’s sick of it. He says the fans are sick of it too so why don’t they settle this thing once and for all. Park says two weeks from tonight he’ll meet Ray in the ring and fight him again! He says this time he’s bringing the fight right to him. Ray looks stunned at Park’s balls suddenly.

Tenay mentions that earlier today the real audio recording from last month in which Kaz and Daniels played between AJ & Dixie. The full recording is now at TNA’s website and you haven’t heard it AJ and Dixie were actually planning for Dixie’s husbands surprise birthday party, and Daniels had it edited to seem as something else.

More of Crackhead Claire’s story is talked about with her and Dixie. Dixie says the picture of AJ and her was the moment that AJ told her how bad things were with Claire and she was a basket case at that time so AJ was consoling her. Dixie says the footage of her and AJ in the hotel was actually AJ bringing Dixie to the hotel to see Claire right after she got out of rehab. Dixie mentions the tampered phone conversation, mentioning it being a surprise party for Serg and says that AJ came with his wife for the party. Hogan says he doesn’t want to be in the ring with Daniels but he needs to be held accountable in this match and they’ll find out what Kaz is made of. Kaz mockingly thanks Hogan and leaves.

She says she wants her rematch and Brooke says Gail better not tell her how to do her job. Hogan says Gail’s rematch is next week against Miss Tessmacher.

X-Division Tournament Qualifying Match
Rashad Cameron vs. Mason Andrews

If Cameron looks familiar, you may have seen him jobbing out to Ryback on Smackdown last week. He is also a very talented high flyer known in the independent scene as BLK Jeez or Sabian. He is a longtime partner with Ruckus as the team BLK OUT. Mason Andrews is a very talented high flyer known as Scorpio Sky. He used to wear a mask and has primarily wrestled in the California area with promotions like PWG but he’s also worked for Ring of Honor and was a part of the short lived Wrestling Society X promotion on MTV a few years ago. Cameron jumps Mason at the bell and lights him up with chops. Cameron hits the ropes but Andrews catches him with a crazy rollup for an early nearfall. Taz gives Taeler a yes and Snow is next but before he can say anything else a disturbance in the front row distracts everyone. Taz looks over and it’s JOEY RYAN which enrages Taz. Taz slaps Ryan’s camera out of his hand while Ryan screams at Taz to hit him. Taz is screaming back as well and dares Ryan to step over the guardrail. Main Event
TNA World Tag Team Championships
“Olympic Hero” Kurt Angle & “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles vs. “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels & Kazarian

This is a rematch from the insane match these two teams had at Slammiversary X. Am I the only one that thinks TNA really has to start selling those gloves AJ wears now? Those are beyond cool and definitely something they should market. AJ goes right after Kaz and hits him with a side headlock takeover but Kaz fights back to his feet and shoves AJ into the ropes. AJ bounces off with a shoulder block followed by a snapmare and then a kick to the back. AJ shoves Kaz into the corner and then tags Angle in. Angle catches Daniels with a Hip Toss and then whips him into the corner. Angle charges but Daniels gets his feet up and follows up with a Scoop Slam. Daniels tags Kaz and then hits his Slingshot Elbow Drop which usually leads to a Slingshot Leg Drop from Kaz but Kaz instead just covers Angle and gets a nearfall as Daniels looks frustrated. AJ sees Kaz with the chair and then Kaz flips Daniels off and tells him to finish it. Kaz walks away and goes for the Styles Clash on Daniels but then Kaz comes back in and absolutely BLASTS AJ with a disgusting chair shot to the back! Daniels covers AJ and Kaz tosses the referee back in! 1…2….3!

Winners & NEW Tag Champs: Kaz & Daniels via pinfall

After the match Kaz smiles at Daniels and hands him his belt and then they hug as Daniels looks surprised! Daniels grabs a microphone and says “WE DID IT” and today is a celebration. He tells Dixie to turn her frown upside down and says Crackhead Claire told the truth but not the whole truth. Daniels says you can tell that Crackhead Claire is pregnant but what you don’t known is that the “bastards” daddy is AJ STYLES! Dixie flips the hell out as Claire sits down and puts her head in her hands. Daniels laughs and says “congratulations AJ I’m sure it’ll be a Phenomenal baby!” (okay that was funny)

FINAL THOUGHTS

Terrific show tonight, TNA is really hitting it right now. Even the drama filled AJ/Dixie storyline is at least a step in the right direction, it’s an actual STORY. The whole “Young & The Restless” drama doesn’t do much for me but they put another twist on the thing to make people question again. Is it another lie from Daniels or is it legit this time? They tried to fill in some plot holes with the backstage segments too but there still remains a few. I liked the tease from Kaz only to see him seal his hate for AJ.

I absolutely LOVE the X-Division Tournament which is much like what they did last year, they just have to keep the momentum with the X-Division going PAST Destination X this time. All the X-Division guys looked great tonight and I really hope Scorpio Sky (Andrews) and Jigsaw (Rubix) can get another shot with TNA because both guys are great. I gave a little background information on each guy during the play-by-play for those that don’t know who each guy was or doesn’t feel like looking it up. I’m really looking forward to seeing who TNA will bring in next week.

Great promo from Aries and Roode tonight, the mic work from those two is going to be stellar heading into DX.

I’m really not into these Gut Check segments but the Joey Ryan inclusion made things interesting. Ryan has been doing this type of thing on Youtube and Twitter since his appearance in TNA but they haven’t really talked about it on TV yet. I loved that part of it.

RVD/Anderson had a fun little match and RVD has looked really reenergized the last few months. It was also nice to see RVD throw some submissions out there (something he doesn’t do much of) to emphasize the importance on getting extra points. Joe and Ray had a great HART HITTING, STIFF match. Great work from Ray working over Joe’s arm the whole match and Park showed some nice fire in his promo afterward too.

Great Main Event, not as good as their classic from Slammiversary, but this one was more about the story than the match really. The match was still REALLY fun however.

*And to anyone that might get mad at me calling the Claire chick “Crackhead Claire” it’s just a joke.
