Ahead of the upcoming WWE Royal Rumble premium live event, the WWE Vault channel on YouTube has posted notable matches from previous Rumble events, along with rare Royal Rumble matches outside of the namesake event.
Among the most recent of these is a look back at the Five-Man Royal Rumble on the September 16, 1999 edition of SmackDown, which saw The Rock, Kane, Mankind, The Undertaker, and Big Show compete for the “first crack” at the WWE Champion in the Six-Pack Challenge at that year’s Unforgiven pay-per-view.
Despite winning the Rumble-style match, The Undertaker would “walk out” on the company the following week, leading to British Bulldog taking his place in the Unforgiven match.
The 2025 edition of WWE Royal Rumble takes place Saturday, February 1, emanating from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
