Ric Flair on Charlotte/Tiffany Stratton promo, AEW, John Cena, if he will be at WM 41

During his appearance on the latest episode of Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair commented on the promo between his daughter Charlotte and Tiffany Stratton. He also said he would be a WrestleMania if he didn’t work for AEW and gave his thoughts on if John Cena should defeat Cody Rhodes.

On Charlotte as a performer, the promo between Charlotte and Tiffany Stratton, with Charlotte’s divorces being referenced by Stratton and if she crossed the line:

“I have an opinion, but I don’t really want to voice it. I can say this, it’s very sensitive. I didn’t like it, but wrestling is wrestling. I hate when they use me, but Charlotte said it right, you think that’s the first time hearing my name? I want to clarify this. She is ten times the athlete that I am. So much better of a worker than I ever was. I can’t do half the things that she does. It’s not like she’s 5’2” and 103 pounds. She’s 5’11 and weighs 145 pounds. She works so hard. Undertaker said it best, ‘The Queen came back and regained her crown.’ She deserves it. She’ll be the best worker in the business, female, until the day she decides to retire….

I’m 0-4. There is a reason I’m 0-4. When you’re gone six months at a time, people say, ‘Why did you get married when you’re gone?’...Well, they’re talking about it. They are certainly talking about it now, at the expense of Ashley’s personal feelings. Wrestling is a strange animal.”

Despite reports last July that Ric Flair and AEW had parted ways, Ric noted that he would be WrestleMania 41 if he didn’t work for “the other company.” He also shared his thoughts on if he thinks John Cena should defeat Cody Rhodes to become a 17-time WWE Champion.

(It has been confirmed by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, that per Ric Flair and AEW, that Flair is still under contract with AEW)

“I work for another company. I’m sure I’d be more than welcome. It’s competition…if I wasn’t working with Tony, I would be absolutely be there. You couldn’t keep me out of the building”

On John Cena and if he defeats Cody:

“I’m extremely happy for John. I wish I could be there and shake his hand. I actually wanted Charlotte to break the record, but if he breaks it, more power to him. I cannot say enough good things about John Cena.”

Flair also said that it is difficult for him to be involved in other activities while working for AEW and then put over Tony Khan, calling him “the greatest guy in the world.”
