Backstage news on the finish of AEW Dynasty; Note on how an injury changed creative plans

The surprise return of the Young Bucks at Sunday’s AEW Dynasty with the former World Tag Team Champions costing Swerve Strickland the World Title was a letdown to many fans.

Fightful Select is reporting that talk online pointed to Bryan Danielson as the one who may have had influence on the finish, AEW sources confirmed to Fightful Select that the final decision for the finish was all Tony Khan, who remains the ultimate creative authority.

It is being said that internally, AEW has emphasized the success of Moxley’s title reign and the rise of the Death Riders. However, despite fans frustrations with the Death Riders, data shows numbers are higher for the live shows and DVR numbers during Jon Moxley matches and segments, especially those that featured Adam Copeland.

The same report also ads there was buzz backstage about turning Jay White heel before his hand injury that took him out of action. It was further noted that the injury, AEW had to make changes to their creative plans for Dynasty.
