Report: Goldberg potentially coming to WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Fightful Select has reported that WWE intends to bring in Bill Goldberg for a Saturday Night’s Main Event special slated for July 12.

This comes after the WWE Hall of Famer revealed in an interview that his final match would happen “in the South,” teasing the possibility of the match taking place in Atlanta, Georgia, where Goldberg spent his college and pro football career before signing with the Atlanta-based WCW to begin his journey in pro wrestling.

His inclusion is noted as being heavily discussed behind the scenes, considered a significant move by WWE to go head-to-head with AEW’s flagship pay-per-view taking place the same day, All In: Texas.

Goldberg last appeared for WWE at Bad Blood last October, in a moment seemingly meant to tease a match against then-World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.

The 7/12 date has yet to be officially announced by the company, ahead of Saturday Night’s Main Event taking place May 24 from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.
