Saturday night’s alright for Collidin’!
We get a quick promo from Big Stoke promising that FTR is ready to team with Protoshita in an All Star 8-Man Tag Team Match!
Elton John’s classic tune brings us to ringside where Jon Moxley makes his way into the building and through the crowd for our opening contest. Crowd letting the World Champ know what they think of him as he enters the ring, and out next is AR Fox who gets a nice reaction from the crowd as we get this match underway!
Non-Title Match: AEW World Champion vs. AR Fox
Crowd showing some love for Fox as he takes the fight to the champ…only to be intercepted with a right hand as he leaps from the turnbuckle. Mox takes him to the ropes for some strikes before forcing him to the outside, where he continues the attack before bringing AR back to the ring. Fox fights back by cutting him off at the ropes, before landing a kick that sends Jon to the floor…and then he gets the drop on the champ!
He brings Mox back into the ring, but Yuta catches him at the turnbuckle allowing Mox to dig into Fox’s back before taking a bite out of him. Head and arm triangle choke leads to an avalanch suplex, but only good for a two count. Mox doesn’t seem to mind as he goes for the bulldog choke immediately after, but Fox manages to fight out…only for the champ to cinch him up in another hold, until AR reaches the ropes for a break.
Fox tells the champ that he isn’t through yet, and Mox goes for a kick that AR catches before forcing him back to the outside. A dive follows up before he brings Mox back into the ring, keeping Yuta at bay before sliding in for a running punt on the champ…followed by a cutter…before he gets cut off by Mox! Gotch style piledriver connects, and Mox pummels away at him with some elbow strikes before locking in a rear naked choke.
Fox is fading fast, and he’s out cold as the ref calls for the bell!
Winner via submission: Jon Moxley
Mox continues the beatdown before telling Yuta to get him a microphone. Mox runs down Hangman Adam Page as Yuta forces Fox out of the ring. The champ talks about Page “pissing away his talent” for years, saying he’s tired of the cowboy’s crybaby crap. The crowd boos as Mox says this is a tough sport and a tough business. On July 12 at All In, he’s gonna run the Hangman out of this sport for good!
Page can go back to counting chickens on his farm or whatever it is he does, because this sport is not for him. Mox’s music hits as he drops the mic, talking smack into the camera.
Video Package: A look back at Grand Slam Mexico!
We head backstage, where Adam Cole hypes up their side of the All Star 8-Man Tag Team Match saying that a win for them would be undisputed.
Back to ringside we go, as Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher make their entrances for our next match. Out next are FTR to a sea of boos from the crowd, as the quartet and Stokely walk down the ramp toward the ring. Bandido and Daniel Garcia come out next, followed by Roderick Strong and Adam Cole to a nice pop as we get this match underway!
All Star 8-Man Tag Team Match: Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Daniel Garcia, & Bandido vs. FTR, Kyle Fletcher, & Konosuke Takeshita
Dax and Bandido start things off, only for Takeshita to sneak attack the ROH World Champion allowing Harwood to continue the offense in the corner. He hits the ropes, but Bandio catches him with a dropkick before taking Dax to the corner for a chop. Strong with the tag, but Dax fights back to tag in Konosuke…who lays into Strong in the corner with strikes! He takes Roderick to the mat, mocking the rest of the opposing team before taking Roddy to the corner for a tag to Fletcher.
Kyle lands some hard strikes on Strong, but he fights back for a tag to Daniel Garcia…who unleashes hell on Fletcher, bringing him to the corner for some punches. Dax sneaks an attack on Garcia and this allows Fletcher to get a nearfall. Dax tags in now, continuing the attack for a nearfall of his own before transitioning to a chinlock.
Garcia fights to his feet before dropping Harwood with a back suplex, and a tag is made to Bandido! He hits a flurry of offense not only on Dax but on Takeshita and Fletcher, before Wheeler comes running in only to be sent to the outside for a dive by the ROH World Champion…but FTR end up getting the upper hand, sending Bandido into the announce table as we go to a full ad break on Max.
-FULL AD BREAK (ON MAX)-
Back from break, Dax and Bandido have returned to the ring and the ROH World Champion hits a torneo on Harwood before tagging in Adam Cole. Fletcher tags in as well, but the TNT Champion takes him down to the mat. Things break down as Roderick Strong and Dax Harwood get involved after a tag, followed by the remainder of the teams before Takeshita gets taken out of the ring by Garcia. Strong gets a nearfall at the end of all this.
Chaos ensues as all eight men go at it until Cole takes Fletcher to the mat. They all rise to their feet for a standoff…followed by a brawl that eventually clears the ring. Cole stops a Shatter Machine on Roddy as Bandido hits a dive on Takeshita to the outside…and Strong stops FTR only to be nailed with a thrust kick into a Shatter Machine as Dax picks up the pinfall victory for his team!
Winners via pinfall: FTR, Kyle Fletcher, & Konosuke Takeshita
They look to continue the beatdown on their opponents, until The Outrunners come running down for the save! Big crowd pop as they clear FTR and Protoshita from the ring, with Cash heard saying they thought they were still cool before retreating up the ramp.
Backstage we hear from the eight women in our All Star 8-Woman Tag Match later tonight, with Athena notably looking down on her tag partners. With that, we go to commercial.
-COMMERCIAL BREAK-
Back from break, commentary hypes up the Women’s World Championship match at All In before we get an interview from Grand Slam Mexico with Mercedes Moné, who talks about being the master of any game before issuing a warning to Toni Storm.
With that, we head to ringside where Swerve Strickland gets a big pop and “Whose House” chant as he walks down the ramp with Prince Nana. Out next is Shane Taylor alongside STP, and we get this match underway!
Swerve Strickland vs. Shane Taylor
Shane uses his size to keep Strickland grounded at the start, but Swerve evades him to force Taylor to the outside. Swerve hits the griddy as we hear Shane being asked what he is doing, as we find out The Infantry has money on this match in a bet with Prince Nana. Taylor gets back in the ring, unloading a flurry of punches on Strickland, as we get more glimpses of whatever is going on in the corner. They get Tony Schiavone in on the racket while Strickland looks for a powerbomb off the apron, only for Taylor to cut him off and force him to the floor as we go to a full ad break on Max.
-FULL AD BREAK (ON MAX)-
Back from break, Shane has Strickland in the corner but Swerve turns things around on him, driving his feet into the back of Taylor. He stays on the attack but only gets a nearfall. He heads to the corner but is cut off by Shane, who favors the injured arm…and this gives Swerve an opening for an armbar! Taylor manages to break free for a knee on the jaw, and a two count before Strickland kicks out.
Taylor heads up top but is intercepted by Swerve, who sends him crashing to the mat. Taylor rolls to the ropes to get back up, but is met with a kick by Strickland on the apron before a Swerve Stomp connects driving Taylor onto the hardest part of the ring!
A commotion between Nana and The Infantry is interrupted by Strickland, who drops them with a dive before sliding back in the ring for a House Call to pick up the win.
Winner via pinfall: Swerve Strickland
Swerve celebrates as we get a look back at Mercedes Moné getting blindsided by Toni Storm at Grand Slam Mexico after her CMLL World Women’s Championship win. Up next we’ll hear from the AEW Women’s World Champion ahead of All In Texas!
-COMMERCIAL BREAK-
An announcer voiceover introduces “Timeless” Toni Storm (and I wonder Where In The World is Toni Stormdiego) as the AEW World Women’s Champion says she’s disappointed in Mercedes Moné. Three weeks ago they shook hands agreeing to having the biggest match ever at All In Texas…and since then, Mercedes has been eating steak, playing on her telephone, and trying to kiss Toni. Moné is still in Mexico because she’s won yet another title. Is that all Toni is to her, another trophy?
She reminds Mercedes that she is Timeless, she is the AEW Women’s World Champion, and if she makes one false move Toni will eat her alive. She demands Moné bring her best at All In, because that’s what she is. One day Toni’s reign will come to an end, and she doesn’t know anyone who is more deserving of beating her.
She brings up Moné’s accolades and compares their careers (in much more colorful language than I think I can put in this recap lol), and Toni makes magic happen with her title, and unless Moné can pull a rabbit of (somewhere), she doubts Mercedes will be able to beat her…knowing that she has to beat Mercedes, and Moné is gonna have to kill her!
Commentary talks about Hologram seemingly joining the Conglomeration as we head back to ringside for our next match. Hologram, Willow Nightingale, and Mark Briscoe make their entrances first before heading to the ring, and out next are Taya Valkyrie and MxM Collection along with Johnny TV before this match gets underway!
Mixed Trios Match: Willow Nightingale, Hologram, & Mark Briscoe vs. Taya Valkyrie & MxM Collection
Taya and Willow start things off, with Nightingale quickly being taken to the corner for a set of strikes by Valkyrie…but she fights back for a nearfall, before Madden and Hologram get tagged in. Madden gets taken to the corner for a flurry of offense by Hologram, who sends Madden to the outside just as Mansoor makes the tag…only to be sent to the outside by the luchador for a dive! He goes for another, but gets taken down hard by Madden, as we go to a full ad break on Max.
-FULL AD BREAK (ON MAX)-
Back from break, Hologram is taking a beating from MxM until he manages to make the tag to Mark Briscoe! Redneck Kung Fu keeps Mansoor at bay, with Madden before sent to the outside as well…but Johnny TV cuts him off while the ref is distracted, allowing Mansoor to blindside him. Tag made to Hologram who gets a few strikes in, before Taya and Willow come in. Mansoor goes after Willow, only for Briscoe to intervene as Hologram hits a Portal Bomb…followed by a big dive from Briscoe and the luchador! Briscoe goes up top for a Froggy Bow, and picks up the win for this new form of the Conglomeration!
Winners via pinfall: Willow Nightingale, Hologram, & Mark Briscoe
Backstage, Kris Statlander is tired of being asked about Willow Nightingale when no one wants to talk about her. Yuta walks in to talk some smack, but gets a lotta shouting from Statlander who shoves him to a guardrail against the wall…before bumping into Jon Moxley. She drops her phone, which Mox picks up from the ground. He tells Kris not to let anyone ever, ever tell her who she is, before handing the phone back to her. He and Yuta walk off.
We head back to ringside where Tony Schiavone introduces Don Callis, who has a message ahead of All In Texas. He introduces Kazuchika Okada, and shows us a look back at their attack on Kenny Omega at Summer Blockbuster. He runs down Kenny Omega, saying he knows Kenny is laying in a hospital bed (as the crowd tell Don to “shut the f— up”) before saying he doesn’t think Kenny’s gonna make it to All In Texas…and if he does, he’s gonna be all alone. He cut off his ties with the Young Bucks and a lot of others, and doesn’t have a friend to back him up…and this brings out Mark Briscoe. He tells Callis to shut the hell up before saying’s Kenny’s friend…but he’s not the only one.
This brings out Kota Ibushi to a massive pop, as one half of the Golden Lovers makes his way down to the ring. He lays out Don Callis with his back turned to Okada, who steps into the ring to stare Ibushi down. This leads to the two trading strikes, until Kota sends Okada down to the mat. The Rainmaker rolls out of the ring to regroup with the Don Callis Family as Ibushi’s music hits, and we’re told JetSpeed takes on the Gates of Agony up next!
-COMMERCIAL BREAK-
We’re back at ringside, but it’s the Workhorsemen duking it out with Big Bill and Bryan Keith after their issues from last week. We find out this started backstage during the break and has spilled out here, as Bill and Keith slam Henry and Drake against the ring steps. Keith sets up some chairs for Bill to deliver a chokeslam, sending Henry onto the chairs! Bill calls for a microphone as we hear Christian Cage’s music.
Sure enough, The Patriarchy make their way out as Cage tells “Seattle” to shut up while he conducts his business. He complains about the brawl eating into his mic time, telling Bill and Keith to stand there and listen while he makes his big announcement.
He talks up Nick Wayne’s schedule and how Cage takes credit for how well he’s doing as a result. He also talks about Nick becoming such a young champion, but why stop there? He announces that he and Wayne will become the first father and son AEW World Tag Team Champions. Bill interjects to suggest that Nick’s father could in fact be anybody, pointing at random men in the audience..and if they don’t like hearing that, they can fight about it right now tonight! Cage cuts him off, suggesting Bill’s gone “off the wagon” before saying they’ll do what they want because Cage is the face of TNT now and forever.
Backstage, we see Anthony Bowens and Billy Gunn having it out over issues from Summer Blockbuster. Bowens talks about needing to climb the ranks in AEW before walking off, to which Billy says he knows.
Back at ringside, Ricochet makes his way out to some heavy boos from the crowd…only to be interrupted by the arrival of JetSpeed for our next match. This is followed by the Gates of Agony making their entrance, before we get this match underway!
JetSpeed (“Speedball” Mike Bailey & Kevin Knight) vs. Gates of Agony
Bailey and Liona start things off, with Toa taking Speedball to the corner for some hard strikes. Mike fights back to get a tag to Knight, who ends up sending Liona to the outside and then catches Bishop Kaun with a backbreaker. Kaun fights back, sending Knight to the outside where Liona ends up catching him with a hard uppercut. Gates of Agony hang out with Ricochet at commentary as we go to a full ad break on Max.
-FULL AD BREAK (ON MAX)-
Back from break, our legal men are Knight and Kaun as they end up down on the mat. Tag made to Bailey, but Kaun evades a running shooting star press only to take a flurry of kicks sending him to the corner. Bailey goes after him with some punches before Knight comes in to cut off Liona before hitting a double-team that gets Speedball a nearfall.
Toa comes in and catches Bailey AND Knight with a fall away slam, before the Gates rush Bailey for a double-team. Knight cuts them off but takes a beating for his efforts…only to counter the Open The Gates for a DDT! JetSpeed send Toa out with a double dropkick, and Kaun regroups with him just as JetSpeed land a pair of dives to the outside.
Liona gets sent into the ring steps as Kaun goes after Bailey in the ring, but a lungblower only yields a two count before Speedball kicks out. Mike turns it around with a spin heel kick on Bishop, and a tag to Knight leads to the UFO Splash for the win!
Winners via pinfall: JetSpeed
We hear Ricochet being none too pleased about the result as we are reminded that our main event is up next!
-COMMERCIAL BREAK-
Back at ringside, there’s been enough talk…it’s time for our main event! Out first is the “Toxic Spider” as Thekla makes her way out, followed by Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford. Rounding out the team is Athena, as she and Billie Starkz head down to the ring. Tay Melo and Anna Jay make their entrance next, followed by Queen Aminata and Thunder Rosa before we get this All Star 8-Woman Tag Team Match underway!
All Star 8-Woman Tag Team Match: Thunder Rosa, Queen Aminata, Tay Melo, & Anna Jay vs. Athena, Thekla, Megan Bayne, & Penelope Ford
A brawl clears the ring out, leaving Aminata and Ford in the ring as they go at it. Ford takes the Queen to the ropes before landing a dropkick, but Aminata fights back before Megan gets involved. This brings out TayJay, and soon chaos ensues bringing all eight women to the outside after a dive from Aminata and a moonsault from Ford brings all of them down to the floor as we go to a full ad break on Max.
-FULL AD BREAK (ON MAX)-
Back from break, the legal women in this match are Thekla and Aminata as they go at it…before Thekla catches the Queen in a Tarantula on the ropes before the ref intervenes. Thekla continues the attack until Aminata takes the Toxic Spider to the mat with a lariat…and then lays her out with a headbutt for a nearfall!
Chaos ensues as Ford and Tay make the tags, only to be taken down to the mat before they in turn tag in Athena and Thunder Rosa. The two trade strikes until Athena takes control, only for Rosa to drop her with a dropkick. Athena heads to the corner but is caught with a reverse neckbreaker by Rosa, who then kicks Athena in the jaw for a cover…but Penelope breaks the pin at two.
Rosa follows up with a package piledriver, before Bayne comes running in with a spear! Anna takes Megan down but is laid out by Thekla, who takes out Melo before Aminata intervenes…only for Athena to drop her down hard! Rosa runs back in with an airplane spin into a Death Valley Driver, and the ref gets distracted as Red Velvet gets involved, helping Athena land a shot with the title on Rosa for the pin and the win!
Winners via pinfall: Athena, Thekla, Megan Bayne, & Penelope Ford
The four celebrate their win as commentary hypes up Dynamite on Wednesday as well as matches confirmed for All In Texas, including the return of the Casino Gauntlet Match as Collision comes to a close.
