“Then. Now. Forever. Together.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

We go live into the Little Caesars Arena to see all the WWE Superstars on the stage with a picture of the late Hulk Hogan on the screen. It says, “In memory of Hulk Hogan: 1953-2025.” Among the superstars is Eric Bischoff, Hogan’s business partner. Hogan’s son, Nick Hogan, is also there with his wife.

Paul “Triple H” Levesque says we’ve lost one of the biggest and most globally recognized icons in the world. It’s a man he grew up watching and was fortunate enough to share the ring with. He also called Hogan a friend. Hogan captivated millions of people and inspired them worldwide. We would not be standing here without him.

We have a 10-bell salute to Terry Bollea, the one and only Hulk Hogan. The bells ring, and the crowd loudly chants, “Hogan.”

Video: A beautiful tribute video plays in honor of the late, great Hulk Hogan.

The crowd continues to chant for Hulk Hogan. We see people dressed as him.

The WWE Drone brings us live into the Little Caesars Arena.

Jey Uso and Paul Heyman talk about family

“Main Event” Jey Uso’s music hits, bringing the crowd in the Little Caesars Arena to its feet. This Saturday at SummerSlam, he’ll team with his cousin, Roman Reigns, to take on “Big” Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker.

Tonight’s main event will see Jey Uso battle “Big” Bronson Reed, five nights from SummerSlam.

The crowd is going wild for Uso. Uso wants to run it back, but Paul Heyman cuts him off. The crowd loudly boos Heyman as he walks out to the stage. Heyman tries to do his usual shtick, but the crowd boos him down. He says his name is not “BOO.” Heyman says he’s not here to be disrespectful to “Main Event” Jey Uso, even though he’s in the main event tonight against “Big” Bronson Reed. Heyman is here to speak man-to-man, a former Bloodline member to another former Bloodline member. Heyman wanted to speak from the heart. A LOUD “OTC” chant fires up. Heyman wants to speak from the heart in front of a worldwide audience about family. Heyman goes to get in the ring, but he sees the look in Uso’s eyes and decides to back away from the ring.

Heyman says he cannot believe that Uso accepted his cousin’s invitation to team with him this Saturday at SummerSlam against Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker. Uso is doing it all in the name of family. Heyman emphasizes family in a derogatory way. Heyman says family is always going to let you down and get you in trouble. Heyman says, “Trust the Oracle. That’s not a prediction. That’s a prophecy.” Heyman can see Uso isn’t buying into what he’s telling him. Another loud “OTC” chant fires up. Heyman wants to lay this one on Uso: when Uso was a kid, did his mother tell him it was Santa Claus that left the presents underneath the tree? Because he didn’t. In other words, Uso’s mother lied to him. Uso is pacing in the ring. Heyman says everyone’s mothers lied to them, too. Except for the Jewish ones, because his tribe knows better. Did Uso’s father tell him that he wanted him to become more iconic than he was? Is that what Rikishi told him? Rikishi doesn’t want that. Uso’s father lied to him, too. When Roman Reigns was going to pick the next in line for the Tribal Chief, he didn’t pick Uso. He picked Solo Sikoa. How did that work for the family? Now, Reigns thinks he would’ve been a better choice for Tribal Chief. Does he tell Uso that Reigns wants him to be as rich, famous, and as big as he is? If Roman Reigns said that to Uso, Roman Reigns lied to him, too.

Heyman isn’t saying this out of anger or malice. Heyman is saying this because he loves Jey Uso. Uso looks conflicted. The crowd is loudly booing Heyman. Heyman says he loves Uso just like family. Heyman then yells, “YEET!” Heyman drops the microphone and bows to Uso.

The crowd chants, “Bulls–t.” Uso paces around the ring and says family is why he’s here. Uso will tell Heyman one more time not to run his mouth about his family. Uso will pull up for his family every time. That Bloodline still runs deep in his veins. Uso is fired up. Heyman is out here talking crap and disrespecting him. Uso did all these things because he wanted to prove it to himself. He won the World Heavyweight Championship to prove it to himself. It had nothing to do with Roman Reigns. Speaking of family, where’s Heyman’s? They brought Heyman into his family. Here’s what’s going to happen. Heyman screwed his cousin at WrestleMania. His boys screwed him out of the World Heavyweight Championship. Whatever happens tonight, and SummerSlam is on Heyman’s ass. Four letters, one word: ugh ugh… YEET!” Uso says, “We’re gonna run this shit back.” Uso starts to dance and celebrate again.

Later tonight, World Heavyweight Champion Gunther will have a message for CM Punk. The Judgment Day will also defend the World Tag Team Championship against the LWO. We’ll also see Rhea Ripley team with Stephanie Vaquer, IYO SKY, and Nikki Bella to take on Women’s World Champion Naomi, Chelsea Green, and the Secret HERvice.

AJ Styles makes his way to the ring. He’ll team with the Kabuki Warriors to battle the Judgment Day in a 6-Person Mixed Tag Team Match.

Natalya says Hogan transcended pro wrestling and moved to pop culture. Jey Uso says Hogan is the reason they’re here today. The Miz says Hogan is on the Mount Rushmore of wrestling. He left a legacy. She points out her shoes, calling them big shoes, and says they’re “Becky Stompers.” Yikes. In two weeks, no, one week, she’ll be standing here as a two-time Women’s Intercontinental Champion… or she will have failed and never again be able to challenge for the title as long as Becky Lynch is the champion. If that happens, she won’t be standing at all. Lynch will have to beat her into the ground if she wants to walk out of SummerSlam with that title. Valkyria knows Lynch doesn’t like to play by the rules. That’s how she beat her for the title. Valkyria wants to try it Lynch’s way. You can’t break the rules if there are no rules to break. Some might think she’s playing into Lynch’s hands, but she’s seen everything Lynch has ever done. She knows what Lynch is capable of, but Lynch doesn’t know what Valkyria is capable of. Zayn says he’s hoping to be done with Kross once and for all. Kross is obsessed with him. Kross wants some warped truth from him, but Zayn doesn’t care. It’s impeding him. It’s standing in the way of Zayn achieving his goals. Zayn wants to be a World Champion. Kross has to be finished at SummerSlam.

Karrion Kross then interrupted the interview and told Graves to go away. Kross is with Scarlett. Kross says he had the idea to hit Zayn in the injured ribs with a steel pipe again, but then he thought Zayn wouldn’t make it to SummerSlam. That doesn’t work for him. Kross usually gets everyone in WWE to show their true colors, except Zayn. That’s pissing him off. When he beats Zayn at SummerSlam, he’ll get Zayn to say, “Kross told the truth.” Then, he’ll go away, and Zayn can be World Champion. Kross says Zayn is no different than anyone else and is no better than him. Scarlett gives Kross the pipe, and Kross gives it to Zayn.

Zayn says Kross thinks he’s a puppetmaster. What does he really want? If Kross beats him at SummerSlam, he’ll say whatever it is he wants him to say. Maybe Kross is wrong about everything, even himself. When Zayn beats him at SummerSlam, because he will do that, Kross will look at him and say that Kross was wrong. Zayn gives the pipe back. Zayn says, “I’ll see you at SummerSlam,” and walks off. Kross cradles the pipe and smiles.

“Main Event” Jey Uso is warming up for his main event match against “Big” Bronson Reed.

Backstage Segment

World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is walking backstage. We’ll hear from him next.

-Commercial Break-

LJN is back. They have a retro-looking Hulk Hogan action figure that is available for pre-order at Target.

World Heavyweight Champion Gunther calls out CM Punk

“The Ring General” Gunther, the World Heavyweight Champion, makes his way to the ring. A loud “CM Punk” chant gets going as Gunther stands in the ring. Gunther tells them to calm down because last week was a clean victory for him. Gunther went toe-to-toe on the microphone with the supposed best talker in the business, the best in the world. Another LOUD “CM Punk” chant cuts him off. Gunther looked him straight in the eye and told him what was going to happen at SummerSlam. Gunther left the Voice of the Voiceless speechless. The crowd chants, “You tapped out.” Gunther says he may have, but he’s not running out of things to say about CM Punk. Last week, he told Punk that he doesn’t deserve to call himself the Best in the World. He made it clear that Punk would never be the World Champion. Most importantly, Gunther made CM Punk shut the hell up.

CM Punk’s music hits to a HUGE reaction. Punk casually walks down to the ring with his hands behind his back. The crowd sings his entire song. A massive “CM Punk” chant fires up. Punk incredulously asks, “Speechless? No, more dumbfounded.” It wasn’t anything Gunther said. In that moment, it dawned on Punk as he stood across the ring from someone as great as Gunther that he didn’t want to be World Heavyweight Champion. Gunther is confused. Punk says, “I need to be World Heavyweight Champion.” Punk says he needs it as much as he needs air in his lungs. He needs to be the World Heavyweight Champion, just as he needs his heart to pump blood through his veins. Punk needs it like the Detroit Red Wings need a twelfth Stanley Cup. Punk needs it like a Midwest dad needs a cold one. Punk doesn’t drink, but he knows addiction. This place is his addiction. Punk needs to lift the title over his head as a thank you to the millions of people who have chanted his name for over ten years. A loud “CM Punk” chant fires back up. It might not mean anything to Gunther, but it means the world to him. Punk needs to be the World Heavyweight Champion. For as great as Gunther is, he thinks Punk doesn’t deserve to call himself the Best in the World. Gunther is correct. He doesn’t deserve it. He earned the right to call himself that. Punk can be arrogant about it. Gunther is out here as the World Heavyweight Champion, being as arrogant as he is, but he can’t back it up. Punk has left a trail of bodies of Hall of Famers, legends, and superstars that Gunther has only dreamed of being in the ring with.

Gunther goes to tell him to shut up, but Punk stops him. Punk says, “I wasn’t finished. There’s levels to this, kid, and you’re gonna find out a hard lesson at the SummerSlam on Saturday that you are not on my level.” On Saturday night, he’s leaving as the World Heavyweight Champion. At least Gunther will know what it’s like to share the ring with the Best in the World, CM Punk. Punk leaves the ring, and Gunther is furious.

The commentators run down some of the events for SummerSlam weekend.

Breland will sing “God Bless America” on Saturday. Tigirlily Gold will sing it on Sunday.

They then run down the entire SummerSlam card for both nights.

Video: Jackie Redmond sat down with Jelly Roll. Jelly Roll says, “F–k Logan Paul.”
