Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced on Thursday on social media, that this Friday, August 1 will officially be “Hulk Hogan Day.”
Governor DeSantis also noted that both the United States and Florida state flags to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset at the state capitol in Tallahassee and all the government buildings in Pinellas County.
Hogan’s family moved to Port Tampa when he was just under two-years old. He began his training as a professional wrestling in 1977 under Hiro Matsuda and made his in-ring debut that same year in Fort Myers. He also owned the popular Hogan’s Hangout in Clearwater Beach.
Hogan (real name Terry Bollea), passed away on July 24 at the age of 71. His death was ruled as a heart attack.
