Clarification on WWE/ESPN deal for US fans

Social social posts on Wednesday indicated that if you have ESPN as part of your cable TV, satellite or live TV streaming service, you will be able to access the WWE PLE’s on ESPN’s app without the need to pay $29.99 a month for the new ESPN streaming service in 2026.

However, per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, this only applicable to select providers, which are the following:

-Charter (Spectrum)

-DirecTV

-FuboTV

-Hulu Live TV

-Verizon Fios

Wrestlenomics further notes, customers that access ESPN through other major systems such as Comcast, YouTube TV, DISH Network, Sling, Altice, Cogeco, Frontier, and Cable One, will need to subscribe separately to ESPN’s new streaming service to access WWE’s PLE beginning in April 2026.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful noted on X that reached out to WWE to clarify the information from the posts and that it is indeed true.

According to Sapp, he spoke with someone at WWE that indeed confirmed, that if you have ESPN through most traditional cable and satellite providers, you will have access to the new ESPN direct-to-consumer app that PLE events on the new streaming app.

The new deal between WWE and ESPN (Disney) is for five-years. There still has been no information about where WWE’s video library may end up, as the five-year deal that WWE had with Peacock comes to an end in March 2026.

International fans can still access WWE PLE’s and the video library through Netflix.
