The family of independent wrestler has taken to Facebook, noting that Syko Stu has been released from the hospital, after he suffered the brutal attack by Raja Jackson at a KnokX Pro Wrestling School event back on August 23.
At the event Raja, the son of former UFC fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, hit the ring, picked up Stu and slammed him hard to the mat, legitimately knocking him out. Raja then began to hit Stu very hard with real multiple punches at Stu’s head. Wrestlers and officials immediately went into the ring to pull Raja off Stu.
“Stuart has been released from the hospital and is now home resting. He sustained a serious head injury and was unconscious upon arrival at the ER. His injuries include trauma to both the upper and lower jaws, a laceration to his upper lip, and a fracture to the maxilla bone, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of several teeth.
He has a long road of recovery ahead, but he remains in good spirits despite everything he has been through.
We are deeply grateful for all the love and support we’ve received during this time. Thank you to everyone who has contributed in any way—whether through monetary donations, food, flowers, or gifts. Your kindness means more than words can express.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
With love and respect,
Contessa Patterson & Stuart Smith (aka SykoStu)”
KnokX Pro was a WWE ID school. However, following the event, the school is no longer an affiliate of the program. KnokX Pro Pro Wrestling School is owned and operated by WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi Reno Anoaʻi, who wrestles as Black Pearl.
The Los Angeles Police Department is still investigating the incident.
There is still an active Go-Fund Me for Stu. He is a United States Military Veteran.
