Taz reveals why his 2300 Arena HOF induction was not on TV

After last Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite went off the air, Taz was hit with a surprise that he was going to be inducted into the 2300 Arena Hardcore Hall of Fame. The ceremony was initially set to take place live on the air during last Saturday’s Collision.

However, Taz then requested that it be moved to Wednesday’s Dynamite so more of his family could attend. The ceremony did take place, but it did not air on television, per the request of Taz.

The ECW legend responded to a fan post on X, noting that he did not want the ceremony on television because he did not want to take away air time from the current AEW talent and it’s not about him.

The Wresting Observer/F4WOnline’s Dave Meltzer then responded to Taz, saying that he strongly disagrees, understanding the sentiment and it’s about the future, but sometimes you want to honor the past.

Taz responded back to Meltzer noting that people watching is much different than years ago and that he never wants to take TV time from anyone that still bumping or younger than he is, adding that he has no ego or insecurities.
