AEW CEO, President and General Manager Tony Khan has announced that former AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson is joining the Dynamite commentary team full-time.
Danielson will start in his new commentary role on the Wednesday, September 10 episode of Dynamite. He previously had been a guest commentator on a previous episode of Dynamite last month.
It is unclear if the commentary team will be four-men going forward, as it has consisted of Excalibur, Taz and Tony Schiavone.

The 44-year old Danielson last wrestled when he dropped the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley at last October’s WrestleDream PPV in Tacoma, WA. Danielson still contributes behind the scenes. Danielson said during a recent interview, promoting AEW’s Grand Slam Australia 2026 event, he feels fulfilled and has nothing left on his bucket list in wrestling.
Danielson had previously stated in past interviews that his “neck is wrecked” and that he is exploring other options to possibly avoid surgery.
