Andrade’s departure from WWE reportedly due to a wellness violation

As first reported by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer and then confirmed by The John Alba at the Takedown on SI and Fightful, Andrade’s departure from WWE was not a mutual decision.

It is being said that the former NXT Champion and United States Champion had at least one wellness violation during his most recent tenure with WWE. We had reported on Saturday afternoon that Andrade has been place on WWE’s alumni page of their website and had left the company. At the time of the report, it was unclear if he had asked for his release or if he was cut loose by WWE.

Alba writes, “Andrade had at least one wellness policy violation during his most recent WWE run. It is not known how exactly he was in violation of the policy, or whether or not he in fact tested positive for a banned substance (WWE can suspend talent for failing to produce a test). It is also not clear if it directly led to his release, but it was noted that he was suspended without pay as of a result of it.

In addition, Alba adds that “[Andrade] was told to leave a taping last month, and was escorted out of the building. A high-level source asserted this dismissal from the building was in relation to his most recent suspension, and that it affected major creative plans for his tag team with Rey Fenix.”

BodySlam.net reported on Saturday night that WWE had attempted to get contact Andrade for several weeks, but was unsuccessful. SI added they have confirmed the violation took place at an episode of SmackDown in the middle of August.

Andrade had previously been suspended for a wellness violation during his first run with WWE back in 2020.
