Newly signed AEW star Andrade El Idolo defeated DMT Azul on Friday night in Tijuana, Mexico to win The Crash Heavyweight Championship.
With Andrade’s Victory, this ended Azul’s reign of 900 days as the champion.

Andrade made his surprise return to AEW during this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite 6-Year Anniversary show, attacking Kenny Omega and then aligning himself with Don Callis.
According to F4WOnline, Andrade’s return to AEW has drawn some skepticism over issues from his first run with the company, which included a previous backstage altercation with Sammy Guevara and later suggesting he would re-sign with AEW, only to leave for WWE.
Andrade is first wrestler to have left WWE, then go to AEW, then return back to WWE and then again return to AEW. He signed a development deal with WWE in 2015 and would be with the company up until March 2021. He would then make his debut on the July 7, 2021 episode of AEW Dynamite. He then left AEW at the end of 2023 after the Worlds End pay-per-view for WWE, after suggesting he would sign a new deal with the company. However, he would leave AEW to sign a new deal with WWE and was a surprise entrant in the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble Match.
His release from WWE this past August, was said to be as a result of a wellness violation and other disciplinary issues. Furthermore, it was said his release changed creative plans WWE had with he and Rey Fenix and that his release had nothing to due with his divorce from Charlotte Flair.
