Ibushi announced on Sunday that he underwent successful surgery.
The note from Khan to Ibushi said the following:
“You + your hard work. I wish you all the best in your recovery. Everyone in AEW respects you so much. Thank you, God Bless you, Mr. Kota Ibushi!
Best,
Tony Khan, AEW”

During his match with Josh Alexander on Collision, Ibushi was on the shoulders of Alexander who was up on the top turnbuckle. Ibushi fell off of Alexander, also catching his ankle on the way down, then hitting the floor and landing awkwardly on his right leg. AEW medical staff checked on Ibushi at ringside, as Ibushi ended up losing by count-out. The match was taped as part of the Collision taping which took place last Wednesday evening at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida.
The commentary team improvised well as this was not a planned spot in match. Ibushi was taken out by a stretcher and then went to a local hospital in the Jacksonville area.
