Fightful Select has published a new report that there were active discussions within AEW about creating an official training center or some type of developmental system.
The report notes that at one time, there had been some discussions about Ace Steel taking a leadership role before his was let go from AEW. Sources indicated that earlier this year, AEW officials held meetings about opening the facility in Asheville, North Carolina and that several key talents with ties in that area had been lined up and were going to heavily involved. It was said that Dax Harwood, Cash Wheeler, Adam and Beth Copeland were expected to play big roles in mentoring and training.
However, all further talks were said to have been dropped for now, mainly due to the overall cost of establishing and operating the facility.
