Fresh off the heels of this past Sunday’s “Bound for Glory” PPV Impact Wrestling opens up with highlights from the insane event with comments from stars like James Storm, Sting, Bully Ray, and Jeff Hardy.

Aces & 8’s are shown arriving at the Impact Zone. Security briefly tried to stop them from coming in but relented and then we cut to the arena where Aces & 8’s make their way down to the ring. Devon doesn’t seem to be with them. There are 6 members in the ring and then one of them points up to the big screen where other members of Aces & 8’s celebrating. The VP says Hogan is a good Chess Player but they are better and they won at BFG. He says they have one man to thank for that and that man is the newest fully patched member, Devon.

Devon makes his way out through the crowd to a chorus of boos as the members of A’s & 8’s in the ring applaud him. The back of Devon’s jackets says “Aces & Eights” on the top and “Nomads” on the bottom. Fans of Sons of Anarchy will recognize the “nomad” title (a nomad is someone in an “outlaw” biker gang that goes from town to town, how some bikers might have “Birmingham” (or something similar) on their jacket, a nomad will simply say “Nomad”). Devon hugs the A’s & 8’s members and then tells the fans to shut the hell up as a “you sold out” chant starts. Devon says that the guys he’s in the ring with are the guys that have had his back and they were the guys when he was down and out to pick him up. Devon says the people in the crowd are the most no-good, inbred, pieces of crap he’s ever seen. He says the reason “why” he joined is because “we can” and then says without Aces & 8’s he wouldn’t be standing in the ring “testifying.” He thanks “the guy” that orchestrated this whole thing and patched him in and he says this is the group that will destroy TNA and then he screams at the fans again to shut up as they boo him.

Devon says that Bubba, Sting, and Hogan asked “why” and then he asks Bully Ray if he really forgot about Ray cheap-shotting him 2 years ago or when he put Devon’s son through a table. Devon says “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, payback’s a bitch ain’t it?” A “Bully’s Better” chant starts (ironic since they were chanting “Devon’s better” a couple of weeks ago) and then Sting’s music hits!

Sting has A LOT of backup as Samoa Joe, Bully Ray, Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, Mr. Anderson, and others are behind Stinger. Sting congratulates Aces & 8’s and says it’s perfect that they’re here because it’s time for some formal introductions! Sting introduces them to the TNA roster and the TNA boys hit the ring! The fight is on!

It seems like Garett Bischoff, James Storm, Hernandez, and Chavo are also other there. Hulk Hogan’s music hits and he makes his way down with a bat in hand as the TNA roster chases Aces & 8’s away!

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Hogan has the microphone as Aces & 8’s are coming back through the crowd and the TNA boys go after them again and again they back down. Hogan says things don’t work this way. He says that at BFG they got full access into TNA and that means with full access they have to fight! Sting challenges Devon to a match tonight! Bully wants him first! Hogan says either he’s all the way in or all the way, either he gets in the ring and fights Sting or get his ass out of TNA for good. Ray again says he wants Devon but Hogan says it’ll be Sting and Devon tonight and it’s Devon’s choice! Devon agrees and it’s set for the Main Event tonight!

Highlights of Hardy-Aries from Sunday night are shown. Tonight Jeff Hardy will celebrate his title win.

In the back Austin Aries is shown watching the monitor and says “it ain’t a party until the greatest man that ever lived arrives…and maybe I’ll bring some cookies.”

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

In the back Hogan talks to Mr. Anderson and says he knows how bad he wanted to be in the mix at BFG, but next week is Championship Thursday and Jeff Hardy is going to defend against one of four men. James Storm is one of those guys, a 3-Way tonight will decide the 2nd, and Anderson is the third. Joseph Park walks in and Hogan talks to him about what went down at BFG. Park says he needs to talk to Hogan but needs to do it alone.

TNA Television Championship
Robbie E. w/Robbie T. vs. “Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe (c)

Joe is fresh off his successful defense against Magnus at BFG. This will be Joe’s 3rd defense since winning the belt. Joe lays into Robbie as the bell rings with a series of jabs and then he tosses him into a corner and nails him with a running elbow followed by a Leaping Enziguri. Joe headbutts Robbie and then hits a Snapmare Takeover followed by a chop to the back and then a round kick to the chest and then a Knee Drop. 1…2…NO Robbie kicks out! Joe hits Robbie with some more jabs and Robbie tries to fight back with a chop and a kick but Joe shrugs it off and lays him out with a nasty chop of his own. Joe tosses Robbie into the corner again and then headbutts and lifts him up to the top rope. Joe goes for the Muscle Buster but Robbie T. grabs his leg from the outside and Robbie E. kicks him away. Robbie then hits a series of chops and slaps but Joe knocks him down again. Joe hits the ropes and Robbie goes for a clothesline but Joe ducks and then flies through the ropes with the Elbow Suicida onto Robbie T. on the floor! Robbie E. dives off the apron and eats a round kick to the ribs from the monstrous Samoan. Joe tosses Robbie back into the ring and hits the Muscle Buster! Joe locks in the Coquina Clutch! Robbie immediately taps!

Winner & STILL TV Champ: Joe via submission (Coquina Clutch)

After the match Robbie T. comes in and tries to attack Joe but gets choked out with the Coquina Clutch as well!

In the back Jesse presses his girlfriend Tara as Lee South takes photographs of them. Jesse from Big Brother talks about who he is (like anyone cares). Tara says they are the hottest couple and then they start making out.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Non-Title Match
Tara w/Jesse vs. ODB

Taz tries to put over Jesse’s “accolades” on “Big Brother” as ridiculous as that sounds. Hilariously enough ODB’s “husband” is probably a bigger reality show star at this point because his show is actually still on TV. ODB talks to EY backstage on a phone and she sounds pissed at him for not being there. ODB grabs Tara and starts swinging away at Tara as she gets in the ring! ODB chops Tara and then whips her into the corner and hits her with a shoulder block before slapping her on the ass. ODB lifts Tara up and hits a Powerslam and then picks her phone back up and screams at EY some more. Jesse screams at ODB and ODB smothers his face in her boobs before picking the phone back up. Tara hits her from behind and screams at ODB that Jesse is “her man.” Tara grabs ODB by the hair and lifts her up into the air! Tara puts ODB in a chinlock and then slams her to the mat by the hair. Tara puts the boots to ODB and then lifts ODB up into the air by the hair again. Tara kisses Jesse and ODB takes a swig of liquid courage. ODB Splashes Tara and then spits in Jesse’s face! ODB hits the TKO! 1…2…3!

Winner: ODB via pinfall (TKO)

Miss Tessmacher applauds what just went down from the ramp.

In the back AJ and Angle talk about the match tonight. AJ says being a tag team was awesome but now it’s about the World Title tonight. He says it’s every man for himself tonight. AJ says “I’ll see you out there, Kurt” and walks away. Kurt says “yes…you will.”

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

In the parking lot Aces & 8’s are standing around laughing and talking.

Highlights from the awesome Tag Title 3-Way from BFG are shown.

Daniels & Kazarian scream about a rematch and Daniels says that they’ve proven that Hernandez & Chavito can’t beat them straight up in a two-on-two match. Daniels says they’re going to “kick the dog sh*t” out of them. Daniels was freaking the hell out.

Chavo and Hernandez talk about their win.

Non-Title Match
Kid Kash & Gunner vs. “Mexican Warrior” Chavo Guerrero Jr. & “Super Mex” Hernandez

Chavo & Mex are fresh off their Tag Titles victory at BFG. Hernandez is now a 6-time TNA/NWA Tag Team Champion with 4 different partners (3 times with Homicide, once with Matt Morgan, once with Anarquia, and now one with Chavo). Kash and Gunner go after the champs as they come in the ring. They toss Chavo out to the floor and then double team Hernandez. The heels whip Hernandez into the ropes but he runs through their double clothesline attempt and hit one of his own! Hernandez shows off his strength by press slamming Kash in the air and then he tags in Chavo. Mex hits a Snapmare Takeover and then Chavo hits a Sliding Dropkick for a nearfall. Chavo hits Kash with a European Uppercut and then tags Hernandez back in. Chavo whips Kash into a Bearhug from Hernandez and then Hernandez tosses Kash across the ring with the Cracker Jack! Kash comes back by biting Hernandez and then tags Gunner in. Gunner whips Hernandez into the ropes and goes for a backdrop but Hernandez kicks him and hits a Scoop Slam. Guerrero tags back in and hits a Slingshot Somersault Senton for a nearfall. Gunner comes back and tosses Chavo into the heel corner where he and Kash double team Chavo. Kash whips Chavo into the ropes and connects with a clothesline and then whips him into the ropes again and charges but eats a boot. Gunner clotheslines Chavo from the apron and then Kash puts the boots to him. Gunner tags back in and they both beat on Chavo in the corner. Gunner tags Kash right back in and continue the double team. Kash tags Gunner right back in and he chokes Chavo with his boot. Kash tags in yet again and puts the boots to Chavo in the corner as Gunner holds him. Kash hits a Snapmare Takeover followed by a series of kicks for a nearfall. Kash taunts Guerrero and then hits him with a series of knees and forearms but Chavo fights out with a big European Uppercut. Chavo goes for a tag but Kash grabs his boot. Chavo hits an Enziguri with the free leg and tags in Hernandez! Hernandez hits a Slingshot Shoulder Block on Kash followed by a Double Sledge and then a clothesline to Gunner! Hernandez tosses Kash into the ropes and knocks him fresh across the ring with the Get Off Me Shoulder Block! Chavo tags back in and climbs up top! Gunner tries to crotch Chavo but he kicks him away and then Hernandez sends Gunner flying into the guardrail! Chavo dives off the top with a Cross Body! 1…2…3!

Winners: Chavo & Hernandez via pinfall (Flying Cross Body)

In the back Jeff Hardy is shown walking towards the entrance with his Title belt.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

In the back Abyss talks with Sting and Hogan. He wants just one of the Aces & 8’s members for what they did to him but Bully Ray walks in. Ray thanks Sting for letting him stand by his side at BFG and then he says that Devon is his brother and he’s been around the world with him. He says that he knows him like the back of his hand, but even he has no idea why Devon did this. Ray wants to beat the answers out of Devon but Hogan says Ray needs to get focused for next week because he’s going to be one of the four guys who could get a shot at the World Title next week. Ray says Hogan needs to start trusting him a little more and walks away but Sting follows him.

More highlights from Hardy-Aries are shown.

Jeff Hardy’s music hits and the new World Champ makes his way down to the ring for his Championship Celebration. Thankfully Jeff isn’t wearing that weird Predator helmet from BFG to the ring. Jeff is back to carrying that hideous World Title belt with his face on it. Confetti reigns down over Jeff as he gets in the ring. Hardy says it feels good to be back in the Impact Zone and he’s been chasing this moment for well over a year and all the fans have been there with him the whole time. He thanks the fans again as a “thank you Hardy” chant starts and he then says he can’t wait to defend his title for the first time next week. Aries’ music hits and he comes out singing “celebration.”

Aries has a sheet of cookies and balloons and mockingly asks where all the party favors are. The fans chant “we want cookies” and Aries tells them to hold on. Aries says he isn’t going to try and take away anything from Hardy or minimize what he accomplished at BFG. Aries says Hardy was superhuman on Sunday and he did what no one in TNA has done yet, beat Aries when it mattered the most. Aries brought Hardy some celebratory gifts but as Hardy reaches for the balloons Aries lets them go to the ceiling. Aries then offers the cookies and Hardy slaps them away. Aries says that he understands that if Hardy ate too many cookies it might ruin his “girlish figure.” Aries then looks at the belt and says that’s not HIS World Title and says he doesn’t know what that is (the belt Hardy is holding) and Aries says now Hardy has all the pressure and all the stress, and not everyone can handle that. He says that some people crumble under it and then the fans chant “Hardy” but Aries asks where they were at in Phoenix because everyone was chanting “Aries” at BFG. Aries says he can revoke his rematch clause anytime he wants but first he’s going to let Hardy crumble under the pressure. Aries looks at the belt again and Hardy hands it over and tells Aries to take a look at the face that Aries CAN’T be. Aries says Hardy must be able to pull some real strings in TNA and he says the belt represents everything Hardy is and it’s a spitting image of him. Aries then spits on the title repeatedly and Hardy decks him! Hardy goes for the Twist but Aries blocks it and bails out of the ring. Aries laughs at a pissed off Hardy.

Daniels backstage says it may look like he and Kaz are down and out but he knows what Hulk is thinking. He says Hulk just wants “strong friends” so he has to show Hulk how strong he is.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Triple Threat Match
“Olympic Hero” Kurt Angle vs. “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles vs. “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels

The winner of this bout becomes part of the 4 potential challengers for Hardy’s World Title next week. Daniels is the only one here that hasn’t held the World Title and all 3 are former X-Division & Tag Team Champions. Daniels goes after AJ but he and Angle bounce Daniels back and forth between them. They then whip Daniels into the ropes and hit a double Back Elbow. AJ hits a Back Suplex and then Angle hits a Short-arm Clothesline on Daniels. AJ sets up for the Styles Clash but Angle shoves him away and then they square off. Angle gets AJ in a waistlock and then clubs AJ in the back. Angle hits the ropes but AJ leapfrogs him and then hits the Phenomenal Dropkick! AJ tosses Angle into the corner and hits him with a series of shoulder blocks and forearms. Daniels hits AJ from behind and then hits a Double Shoulderblock on both AJ & Angle in the corner. Daniels attempts to whip AJ into the opposite corner but AJ reverses it and tosses Daniels into a clothesline from Angle! AJ kicks Angle and then goes for a Suplex but Angle blocks it and goes for a German Suplex. AJ nails Angle with a series of elbows and then hits the ropes and ducks a clothesline but then eats a backdrop from Angle! Angle then hits a Tilt-A-Whirl Backbreaker on Daniels and then an Overhead Belly-to-Belly Suplex on AJ! Angle hits a German Suplex on Daniels and then grabs AJ but eats a Leaping Enziguri from the Phenomenal One! AJ goes for the Styles Clash but Angle counters with a backdrop, but then AJ counters into a rollup only for Angle to roll through and lock in the Ankle Lock! Daniels breaks the hold with a big uppercut and then tosses Kurt into the ring post sending him to the outside! Daniels quickly hits the STO on AJ but only gets a one count. Daniels drives an elbow into the back of AJ and then hits a modified Neckbreaker for another nearfall. Daniels knocks Angle off the apron as he tries to get back in and then locks a Half Nelson on Allen Jones in the ring. AJ fights back to his feet and breaks the hold and tosses Daniels into the corner. AJ goes for a clothesline but Daniels ducks only to run right into one from Angle! AJ hits Angle with a Running Forearm and then a clothesline for Daniels. AJ lights Angle up with chops and then hits a NASTY Fireman’s Carry into a neckbreaker over his knee on Daniels! Styles then hits a Flying Forearm on Angle in the corner. AJ goes out to the apron and hits the Springboard Flying Forearm on Angle! 1…2…NO Angle kicks out! Daniels hits AJ from behind and hits a Sitout Powerbomb for a nearfall of his own. Daniels goes for a clothesline on Angle but eats a T-Bone Suplex from the Olympian! Angle then goes for a clothesline on AJ but he ducks and hits the Pele! All 3 men are down now. AJ rolls out to the apron and Daniels comes over but AJ backdrops him over the top to the floor! It looks like AJ is contemplating going for a springboard move on Angle in the ring but looks back at Daniels on the floor and instead he hits an Asai Moonsault off the ropes onto Daniels on the floor! AJ sells the knee on his landing but I don’t know if he’s just selling or jammed it because Daniels was a little out of position on the dive and really didn’t catch AJ at all, AJ just hit him on the way down and his legs caught the ground. AJ tosses Daniels back into the ring and but Angle kicks Daniels into AJ knocking him off the apron! Olympic Slam on Daniels! 1…2…3!

Winner: Angle via pinfall (Olympic Slam)

Angle offers AJ a handshake after the match but AJ shakes his head and walks away.

Highlights from Snow-Ryan at BFG with the interference from Matt Morgan is shown.

In the back Joey Ryan & Matt Morgan approach Hogan in the back and Ryan shakes Hogan’s hand. Hogan tells Ryan to have a great run in TNA and then he asks Morgan what is going on with him. Hogan says it might have something to do with the very first time Hogan promised to make Morgan a household name but never backed that up. Hogan mentions how he’s always fought for Morgan when everyone said he doesn’t ACT like a giant sometimes and when people say he doesn’t have charisma. Morgan gets in Hogan’s face and says he can take “the charisma, the little dancing giant routine, and everything else “they’ve” ever said about me and I’m going to shove them all straight up your ass.” Morgan punked the hell out of Hogan but as Morgan walks away Hogan actually smiles at Morgan’s intensity.

James Storm is shown backstage.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

TNA is really running this zombie commercial into the ground.

Highlights from Sting’s Hall of Fame ceremony are shown including an emotional Dixie Carter followed by highlights from the epic Storm-Roode showdown. King Mo’s facial expressions during the big spots in that match were priceless and Storm’s gory, bloody face was nuts. It wasn’t Eddie Guerrero-JBL level of gore but it was pretty nasty. After the match James Storm says that it was all worth it as long as Bobby Roode knows that that night was the night Storm was “Bound for Glory.”

Storm’s music hits and the “creek swingin’, moonshine sippin’, deer skinnin’, beer drinkin’, Johnny Cash listenin'” Cowboy makes his way down to the ring. Storm says that he was taught when he was very young “what goes around, comes around” and exactly a year ago he became the World Heavyweight Champion after BFG. He says speaking of BFG if you missed it you missed a fight, not a wrestling match. He mentions that he bled buckets and he has the stitches to prove it. He says he gave that blood up for himself, his family, and his fans. He says when he came back this year he made a “bucket list” and he pulls it out and it says, “#10: kick the crap outta’ Bobby Roode…check! #9-2: drink beer…(takes swig of beer) CHECK! #1…win back the World Championship.” Storm says next Thursday he’s one of four guys that gets a chance to compete for the World Title and if Hulk Hogan is listening…Bobby Roode’s music cuts him off!

The IT Factor makes his way out, limping and all. Someone in the crowd throws something at Roode as he gets in the ring. Roode is definitely selling the effects of Sunday’s match. Roode says last Sunday Storm and Roode made good on a promise to give their blood, sweat, and tears and leave everything in the ring and kicked the crap out of each other. Roode says that when it was all said and done he and Storm had one of the most physical and most bloody battles in the history of wrestling. Storm asks So Cal Val to hand him a chair because it’s a lot easier to kiss his ass if Roode is sitting down.

Roode gets in Storm’s face and says he isn’t kissing his ass and he doesn’t need a damn chair. Roode says if anyone should be kissing ass it should be Storm kissing his ass. Roode says after one long year Storm was FINALLY able to beat him and Storm knows damn well that Storm has needed Roode his entire career. Roode says he was the backbone of Beer Money and he carried Storm. Roode says that one year ago Storm became the World Champion BECAUSE of Roode and without him Storm would have never won that title. Roode says despite his loss to Storm at BFG he knows deep down inside him that Roode will ALWAYS be the better man!

Storm says “the better man, huh? NOPE!” and Superkicks the daylights out of Roode! Storm looks over Roode and says, “sorry about yo’ damn luck!” Tenay says that Superkick was the exclamation point on the Storm-Roode rivalry.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

More highlights from Sting’s Hall of Fame induction is shown including Lex Luger’s emotional speech.

Main Event
“The Icon” Sting vs. “Sergeant At Arms” Devon

Sting and Devon both come out alone for this one but I got a sneaky (not very sneaky) suspicion that wont won’t last. Devon jumps Sting as he comes in the ring and chokes him in the corner. Devon attempts to whip Sting into the ropes but Sting reverses it and hits a clothesline and a back elbow. Sting shoves Devon into the ropes and hits a Flapjack followed by a series of kicks to the leg. Sting then goes for a Stinger Splash in the corner but Devon moves only to walk into an elbow from Sting. Sting tosses Devon into the corner again and then puts the boots to him. Sting stomps on Devon’s hands and then rakes his eyes and whips him into the ropes. Sting tries to clothesline Devon out of the ring but they botch it so Sting tosses him through the ropes.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Back from the break Devon has gained control of the match. Devon rakes Sting’s eyes and then chokes Sting on the ropes. Devon decks Sting and continues to beat on Sting and choke him in the ropes. Devon drags Sting onto the apron and drives an elbow into him. Devon puts the boots to Sting again and then hits a Diving Headbutt for a nearfall. Devon puts a headlock on Sting and then he shoves Sting into the ropes and connects with a Corkscrew Elbow. Devon hits a Jawbreaker followed by a big right hand. Devon climbs up to the middle rope and dives off with a Flying Headbutt, but Sting rolls out of the way and hits Devon with a series of strikes. Sting whips Devon into the ropes and connects with a Diving Clothesline and then a Stinger Splash in the corner. Sting hits the Scorpion Death Drop! Sting locks in the Scorpion Death Lock and he sits back on Devon’s back. Aces & 8’s run out and jump Sting!

Winner: Sting via DQ

A’s & 8’s beat Sting down until the TNA locker room empties and the brawl is back on! Bully Ray runs down with a bat and chases A’s & 8’s off!

FINAL THOUGHTS

I have to say that coming off of BFG (which I thought was TNA’s strongest PPV of the year) this was a huge letdown tonight. Nothing was over the top good and outside of the Triple Threat nothing was good at all in the ring.

I liked the opening with Devon and making sure to let people know Devon is NOT the one behind Aces & Eights but rather the “mole” that was helping them get access into the Impact Zone. There has been a lot of discussion about the reveal of Devon at BFG and I loved it. It swerved EVERYBODY and not in a way that’s ridiculous, in a way that makes sense and nobody saw coming. For Devon to be jealous of Bully Ray and mad at TNA (over his contract) is not farfetched.

Joe looked dominant and he needed to. I want to see what they have in store for him going forward, Joe is one of the guys that could actually make that belt mean something.

No follow-up to RVD winning the X-Division Title was REALLY disappointing. I thought putting the belt on him could help put more focus on it but the division continues to get the shaft by TNA.

ODB & Tara was HORRIBLE and that pains me to say because I enjoy seeing both. The match was more directed toward the terrible gimmick of Tara & Jesse’s relationship (that NO ONE gives a damn about) and even ODB on the phone with EY. Just not good at all.

The tag match was not good either, Kash & Gunner were REALLY sloppy in this one and that was not the outing the new champs needed. Kash needs to be back in the X-Division and let Gunner go back to OVW where he needs to be.

The Triple Threat was really fun and that’s the type of action I love to see, given more time it could have been REALLY good. The little tension at the end between AJ & Angle was interesting and I’ve been saying since that team started that I thought it would lead to a feud between those two (and I will NEVER complain about that). The interesting thing is that AJ is the one that showed the heelish behavior at the end as AJ has ALWAYS been better as a babyface while Angle is better as a heel so if they go that way it will be a definite change.

The James Storm-Roode promo was really good and put a nice little bow on that feud and now it’s time to see where this all goes with those two. What does Roode do now? What does Storm do? Hardy is the champ and Storm seems to be on his way back towards that belt but both are babyfaces. Sending Roode down to the TV Title and a feud with Joe would be EXTREMELY good but could be seen as a downgrade to Roode, but could also be the feud that belt needs to make it not seem like a piece of garbage belt.

Aries-Hardy had a strong promo and Aries spitting on the ugly belt was a nice touch (I truly hate that belt).

I cannot stress how much I’ve started to hate these stupid “deliberations” over who gets a shot at the belt on Championship Thursday. My god, this is wrestling put the 4 guys in a freaking 4-Way and let the winner get the shot, are you kidding me?!

The one word I can think of to describe the Main Event is…boring. I mean that’s all I can think of, it was truly a stomp and kick fest. Both looked slow and lethargic and didn’t tell any semblance of a story. Other than Sting hitting Devon in the back with a chair once during the break it was just another regular match, not one of hate or anything that it was supposed to be. TNA sh*t the bed this week.
